    Install report.

Installed the update (from Sierra), cleared PRAM + SMC then restarted in recovery mode opened Terminal and disabled the System Integrity Protection csrutil disable then logged in.

Once logged in, opened Terminal and replaced the new auvaltool with the one from macOS 10.10 in /usr/bin (I always keep copies of auvaltool from all macOS versions at hand).

Not a single plug-in failed to load in Logic Pro X and also LPX doesn't refresh (partially) every time is fired up - common problem when updating. Audio cards & controllers (NI) work fine.

So that's it. Good luck with the update :)

I only have the ones with dylib in /Applications/iLok. They work, didn't tested all, just random picks.

    Auvaltol is located in /usr/bin
Logging in as root in terminal (sudo -i) then runnig midnight commander to copy files is the easiest imho

Is the one from 10.12 different from the one in 10.10?

What is supposed to be the advantage of the new system and will anything be borked by switching?

some more instructions and a copy of the file at the bottom:

I wonder what the difference between this older auval tool and the "force au validation" utility is?

With Force au validation LPX was scanning (5-7 seconds) some plugins at each launch. With olde auvaltool is not happening.

truthfully, from what I can see, not really. But I didn't really expect there to be. maybe if you have an SSD the new file system, but iut is immature.

The problem is that after open terminal showing hidden files I don't find auvaltool in /usr/bin ...nothing!
    Problem solve!
and if I replace Auvaltool by copying in /usr/bin/ (Shift-cmd+g) does it works the same
    or not??

The replace auval tool (then reboot) didn't fix the re-scan a handful of plugs on each LPX start. Oh well . .
