With the beginning of a new week, we always came across a new revelation of surveillance programs run by the U.S. Government. A Recent NYT Report disclosed that how whistleblower Edward Snowden downloaded 1.7 million classified files which are revealing a number of secret spying projects that are being executed by NSA. The only lesson we have learned, is about taking our PRIVACY very seriously.

To Communicate using electronic media, we need to explore something which can make the conversation more secure and private. The only point where my search ends is to 'Encrypt the message' to be sent with a robust encryption technique which might provide at least a handy balance of security and convenience.

Recently, it was reported that most widely adopted encryption technique RSA had a backdoor for the NSA. So ‘Privacy’ becomes a question to all of us and what technology we should trust upon.

We have various sets of options to choose encryption e.g. Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) or the Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), but the question still persists after an un-proved leak that NSA has developed a quantum computer which can collide with any secure key being used by an algorithm in a cost effective manner. So at this point, these types of encryption might get fails.

A Secure messaging service for Email, Chat, VoIP, and File Sharing is being claimed by UNSEEN.is, provides 4096-bit encryption. For key exchange it uses NTRU (latency based cryptography technique), and hence made a shield against quantum computing attacks.

The service provider claims that they are not storing encryption keys on their servers and so the keys are not known to them, even if the government agency asks for any data of a particular due to any reason, so it would not be of any use to them.

The service is available for free and also on a monthly premium basis, in both the plans, the security of data is same, but only storage capacity varies.

Unseen have all their assets in ICELAND and the country is known for its very strong Human Right policies, protection of whistleblowers and Privacy Laws.

Recently, unseen witnessed a service disrupting activity in which they were targeted by Law Enforcement Agency. “The NSA and GCHQ have programs to do precisely this sort of thing and Here’s the PROOF!”

The accuracy of the data has been yet a question but if it's true; one can easily confirm that NSA and GCHQ won’t get any detail from UNSEEN by enforcing any law.

User can also use PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) to encrypt emails. You are much better protected than if you communicate in the clear. Now that we have enough details about how the NSA eavesdrops on the internet, and can finally start to figure out how to protect ourselves.

Thanks for the info, I've looked quite far for reliable secured e-mail.
Are those the same guys that claim their encryption couldn't be hacked even with alien computer?

I'd only add, that you cannot pay monthly premium. The two options are, $20 for one year or $49 for a lifetime

Maybe it's a good time to ditch GMail :guitarhero:

Here's another article! It also tries to figure out the NSA GCHQ attacks against unseen.is

Yes I've been on the lookout myself because I would like staff to move to another platform as GMail is simply put ridiculous. I also can't stand them begging me for more information about my account everytime I sign on...if I wanted to add a phone number I would have done it already. You can't even use a VPN...I've never heard of such stupidity. Geez. :dunno:

No I believe these guys are different, the other article they were saying alien level tech would be required to break the encrytion...I say they obviously never heard of the NSA.

Thanks for the article mate. :mates:

    Everyone
At the moment there is no real proof that the NSA has a quantum computer and though it is possible I believe that they aren't there yet, some say it might even take 20 years. Still it's inspiring to see a latency based cryptographic technique in use that would foil such an attempt. I like that they don't just offer e-mail but a suite of services such as chat and file-sharing so this could be extremely useful. I believe Mega and The Pirate Bay are also working on something similar but implementations will vary and this one looks particularly solid.

It's saddening what has become of GMail and Google in general.
I am on GMail since 2005, at that time it was invitation-only web mail.
There were no spam accounts there. I actually had to write to support to get an invitation, then I could invite 10 more people.
It was awesome, other e-mail providers either strictly filtered spam so that legit e-mails didn't arrive or were very lenient and my inbox was always filled with junk mail.
    GMail beta did that well.
Then Google unlocked the gates to registration and all spam hell broke loose.

It was all somehow sound and good till March 2012 when google introduced its new privacy policy.
Since then, the GMail became screwed and easily accessible by third parties such as NSA.

I actually was vehemently opposed to Google from the beginning, reminded me of Umbrella Inc. with their don't be evil slogan and their aggressive push into every sector. Now it's just clear as day that they can't be trusted.

Just for anyone considering Unseen.is, I've received this email from them:

Thanks for using Unseen.is. You are receiving this email because you signed up for an account at our site.

We've made a lot of progress with our beta and have some exciting developments to report. You might have noticed a bit of downtime last night as our engineering team pushed out some very important security upgrades for the site. We'll have more details in a few days....
Our Lifetime Premium Membership will Increase to $79 Effective March 1st, up from the current $49

If you've been sitting on the sidelines thinking about upgrading, now might be the time to take the plunge for a premium upgrade, which is still only $49 for a lifetime membership. (Note: lifetime is life of Unseen and you won't get another bill from us for the services we are now offering). It's going up to $79 on March 1, so now is the time. We offer a 30 day no-questions asked money back guarantee, too, so if you change your mind for any reason during that period, there's no risk for you.

Thanks for relaying that info Andrew, so it seems now is the time if you're thinking of jumping on the bandwagon. Also keep in mind that more services will emerge soon too so if you'd like to wait for something comparable there will be something coming around the corner. You should have more than enough options. *yes*

Here's one article about unseen.is that caught my attention: http://www.budgetcamerareview.com/forum/discussion/723/100-confirmation-that-unseen-is-is-not-private-or-secure-/p1

Hard to say if that's true or not :dunno:

Just to be safe give it a little time to see what's what. I think I have some other options somewhere in a notebook. I hope it's not on that drive that won't connect to Windows 8 otherwise I can't help. I will look and see.
