Not that really matters nowadays but i used the UAD-1 cracked plugs (you need a UAD-1 Card) for 4 years nothing earth shattering but it was an eye opener at the time.

Can't say anything bad about the plugins but the hardware has roughly a 1/4 of what my mobile phone had.

Anyway that was then and now is now, i was open minded enough to try legit UAD-2 Card i sold it after 8 weeks couldnt see the point holding onto an investment that reaped roughly 35% improvement over the previous UAD-1 Card but I'm sure various users will have different experiences.

 

There are not now and never have been any cracks for any version of UAD plugins, if you know otherwise, please provide a link.

The DSP chips on the UAD-2 are 2.5x faster than the DSP on the UAD-1, and with optimisations added in versions around 5.4 result in 3x performance boost between UAD-1 and UAD-2.

If UA sell UAD card with powerful DSP,they won't sell UAD cardS anymore ! They make their card deliberately crappy like that .

Don't tell anybody (that means you!), but one of the teams (R#R...I changed their name so you'all will need to keep guessing) found a way to port UAD plugins to VST format (sorry, no Mac for the present time so don't start complaining, it will happen). The first ones to hit for the masses will be Massenburg's EQ and compressor followed soon afterward by the entire catalogue.

 

So the best way to help newbies is to laugh at them?

And Massenburg Design Worksdon't make a software compressor.

Almost funny, which, given that this thread is visible from the sister site's summary list, could be misleading newbies.

And MDW don't make compressors.

if you have an UAD2 card maybe one day ...it will happend ...
there some plugs on UAD card that exist on classic platforms :
softube , alliance plugin etc ....are the same on both arch

 

You will end up downloading UAD2.dmg or Adobe.dmg I do Have some UAD plugins which came free with the sound card & they have pretty hefty coding. Anyway before UAD lets start with Sylenth 64 bit, which is nowhere to be found
