does anyone have Unisyn 2.1 installed on their MAC? It says it compatible with OSX, but I'm not sure which version. When I try to install it, it says "with powerpc not compatible". What's the best Course of Action? Buy an old mac? how old? I want a MAC that I can use with everything from the old programs for EPS16 as well as MR RACK (Ensoniq) also, if anyone wants to trade programs, patches, sounds, etc. Let me know.
I worked with Unisyn under System 7, unfortunately it isn't the only software missing from that period in which midi and external hardware were the main focus of the studio... try for an old mac like classic lc2 or maybe more recent machines till os9.. who knows?
Get yourself the freeware Mactracker. It lists all Mac models, their specs etc. Code: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/5968/mactracker If you need Mac OS 9, the last machines to boot into OS 9 were the G3 PowerPC Macs. Some people have tried to install OS9 on newer Macs using an application called SheepShaver. Code: http://sheepshaver.cebix.net/ It will only support MacOS 7.5.2 thru 9.0.4, though.
For intel macs must be 2.10 (cracked) that still serachig (find only slow torrents) and 2.11 that you can download from motus website, Soundquest is very buggy but I am triyng to use, no recent updates, editors are a lots art. For Ipad you can find editors to. I am looking editors (preference for osx) korg z1 jd990 I had a lot of editors but I losted all and now is hard to find, have some environment but they are buggy too. Sounddiver was good but no crack or way to buy. Maybe share editors can be a good start?
Motu Unisyn specs: Mac OS 9 and earlier: PowerPC G3 or faster Mac OS X: at least Unisyn version 2.1, PowerPC G3/G4/G5, not compatible with Intel Macs.
You need Unisyn 2.11 and it works on an Intel Mac up to system 10.6.8. I know because it is installed on my Mac. The system will need Rosetta to run it and it will ask you to download it from Apple's server. You can find this version on the internet. It's there. First : Install Toast 10 Titanium, mount the dmg as a disk on your desktop and leave it there and OSX will see it as an actual CD in your drive. Install Unisyn, Lounch Unisyn, enter the serial number. After that un-mount the dmg and the disk on your desktop disappears and your doneā¦ Hope this helps you..
