lol the price is pure uter fantasy! ...i think he deserves more for the time spent in creating this monster synth, but i guess loving what you do pass beyond any type of compensation... i will try to pay it more for it, damn.

Maybe it's the "If only everyone gave me a dollar" play. :dunno:

I haven't really heard anything that interest me out of it yet. Waiting to see/hear some more demos. The price is obviously irrelevant in this case but I don't collect plugins to collect plugins. If I don't consistently use it, I don't want it installed on my system.

A younger me is going "aaaawesome!", but my older me is going "Too many options and I already have all the synths I need (and know)".

Ummet's effort is great though, and it being 1€ is just a dream. Have fun tweaking, GenZers!

It's probably better business plan on the long run to sell 300 000 copy at 1$ than 30 000 at 100$. Cause the price is part of the hype, alongside the name of the guy - if you don't know him, you're clearly not into EDM, as it's a big name in the progressive house (the Spinnin/EDM/dutch interpretation of the genre). "Ummet Ozcan release an awesome synth that everyone can afford" is a better headline than "here is a new overpriced synth from another company that you'll wait its cracked version to try" :)

Maybe the plan is to sell presets pack after that, and it's better to have a 300 000 potential client than 30 000. And if the synth is really that good, like a Sylenth or Serum, without killing your CPU, it can become a standard, at least in the EDM world, which is a big potential market. It's better to become a standard selling 1$ copy than become a standard with illegal copy (like Sylenth or Nexus were)

The synth seems cool anyway, at that price it worth the try. Some interesting options, and some (like the "Alpha knob") that are just basic stuff with a different name.

I agree with you and Baxter but...

I’ve paid way more for way less. If I make a song because I got inspired from fucking around with it, well worth $1. I liked some of the sounds on the demo vid too.

The original Genesis he did for Computer Music back then was very handy, some really good sounds on it, so I would expect this to be much better, and for 1 euro, can't even buy a small coffee for that! I'll be getting it for sure.

    -Maybe he does the Googlestyle
Selling the Big Data of Statics it´s collect 14:50 going on (Youtube Video)
(We don´t know what and how much it collect)

-Maybe expansions for 50€ are the catch
Or just to bring a 2.0 for a high price (Every dealer know this taktik given a bit for free and take the money later)

-Maybe to become famous and sell his music or merch

:rofl:Or all of them together :bleh:

interested to know more & see a real review instead of this.

some questions are legit : what about the basic presets / banks ?, how friendly is it even for older CPUs, and so on...

if the trick is to sell the synth 1€, but later, preset packs or soundbanks 20$, no thanks

but at one point, we cannot complain that synths are too expensive, and in the same time not pay 1€ if the synth is really worthy.
it's the best money making / anti-piracy strategy even if there will always be someone who wants everything for free.

again, I still don't understand why devs and sound-designers don't adapt to the change of paradigm and keep blaming people for wanting to be able to compete in a world where it's even harder now to make a living of your music ( and don't start me with "creativity overcome sound possibilities, blah blah, blah ".

majors & labels who yesterday were complaining that napster, the internet, killed the industry have managed to adapt and now they're making a sh*t-ton of money again ( and yet they're still hypocrite enough to complain and blame piracy, saying " things are slowing down", I mean : look at the numbers : they're making billions, stop it already )

so yep, waiting to see more

Yeah but my DAW is blocked by my firewall and always will be lol. I hope it won't be one of those plugins where you have to login to use it. That's would be a complete deal breaker for me.

I am using this synth since 2011, but it was on the CM disc since 2008. It has its limits and it's a Synthedit vst 32 bit, but it has a lot of nice presets and it sounds quite punchy. I always hoped there would be an update.
This Genesis pro seems to be a lot of fun to work with. I would happily pay $ 10,- for it.

It's pretty much zero risk to buy, although concerns about userdata nao? Anyway, I kinda thought (with the tiny page multilayers monstrosity) "has nobody learned from Omnisphere"? But I guess that doesn't matter much! It does seem like a clone of Omni, maybe that's just me? Hope it sounds good & not too fiddly, but I think it's what it means as a statement to other devs that is the most interesting thing about it.

It was quite funny hearing stuff like "we've done this thing that nobody's ever thought to have done before... synthesis.. splits... knobs you can control and everything.. !" and such.
Also @Cav Emp talking about how he's spraying cash around >____> on stuff <_____< hasn't he heard of that saying..? :P
