No matter which board you get, could you not just get a PCI-E card?
    eg. https://us-store.msi.com/Thunderbolt-4-PCIe-Expansion-Card
That way you aren't beholden to overpriced 'pro' motherboards only.

    * seems to require a mb header connector so that limits the boards you can use. *sigh*

Assumed the header was just for front port connectivity.

    Man, we understand us :mates:

I also read a bit about Bluecat Patchwork or something similar.
I read that they´re working hard on the multicore support and latest versions should work.

It´s still a matter of time, that the other softwares use more cores.
He uses East West Cloud for the Orchestral Projects and also use "RenderInPlace" or the Ableton freeze function.

    Ah PS:
I got a email from Asrock, before few minutes.
    They corrected their Answer:

    ASRock Support

    Sorry for the late response.

I had another consultation with my colleagues at headquarters about this.

We have installed the ASM4242 chip here and it also supports TBT3 via USB4.

Unfortunately I didn't have this information when I last replied. (That's why I only meant USB4 functionality)

Since we do not officially offer TBT3 support, we can unfortunately only give a limited statement as to whether all TBT3-capable devices work correctly or whether there are limitations.

At least according to feedback from my colleagues, the UAD Apollo should work here.

Otherwise, these models would be available on the AMD 600 mainboards, which can be used with an extra TBT4 card:

However, there are a few limitations with AMD mainboards - which probably don't affect the UAD Apollo)

See the information about this in the link:

    https://www.asrock.com/mb/spec/product.asp?Model=Thunderbolt 4 AIC R2.0#SupportList

    ----
But i think we continue the intel way, because of the lane sharing in the 870 Boards.

    Next Edit :
Got the final feedback from Asrock Support.
    Thunderbolt 3 compatibility
    No Lane sharing.
So the GPU should keep the pcie 16x

With this information. AND when the UAD would be mine. I would test the AMD setup.
But we ordered the Core 7 Ultra 265k because of the future Compatibility and UAD Support for his studio.

Will continue to report here how the Intel manages the project

From what i read, i would also consider now to go with AMD.
It really seems to be save for UAD :)

Now, that i didn´t work on this "problem" for few days i see this more relaxed.
but when i searched and configured the setups, i rly had some "shit in my pant" :D

I hope the Ultra 7 will do some good work in heavy Projects. But i think he will do after the latest upcoming Bios Updates
