Stop comparing minute differences between plugins nobody who listens to music cares about! Make music instead!

Remember that Universal Audio IS the 1176. The Waves CLA-76's were modelled after the Universal Audio hardware units from Chris Lord-Alge's studio (pictured below) and that also goes for the Teletronix LA-2A's which are a division of Universal Audio. Certainly the emulation can't be more accurate than the actual unit it was modelled on. And to judge by sound preference alone requires the compressors be played as best they can—since limitations in one's ability on a particular compressor can spoil a fair comparison.

One advantage to note with the UA 1176 is that the compressor can be bypassed (option+shift+click the ratio button to disengage, or click the 'off' under the attack) allowing the i/o amplifier circuitry to drive the signal. I took a portion of your drum loop to task and look at the difference! Peaks don't change.

Hear the difference (sorry about sound, zippyshare reduced it to low quality)

Even though the second looks and sounds like I turned up the volume, I assure you, and you can download to confirm, that they both peak the same—actually the conversion added intersample peaks so: -8.0dB to -7.9dB

So just putting your audio through the UAD makes it sound better; something the others cannot do.

    1) Turn off the compressor 2) Turn down the output 3) Turn up the input 4) Peak match

That's true! Those $50 off customer appreciation coupons and $100 off Christmas gifts!

Dude, a few hours before you posted this you praised the 'Comparison between various compressors' thread. So comparing compressors reacting to a drum track is something nobody should care about, but adding an odd harmonic 60 decibels!! lower than a single sine tone is "nice work". Make up your mind!
