hmm... yes, that's where I looked first. Unfortunately no trace of any ua plugins.

 

It seems ua connect installed luna components only, so no vst3 versions in my system, look for a folder in common files named universal audio

screw UA and screw iLOK's. they aren't giving anything away for free here. UA doesn't give stuff away. if they fish-hooked you with the word "free" and you're now sitting there with an iLOK, a "subscription" and the required internet connection on your audio machine then you are still paying their price no matter how you look at it. my guess is after a short amount of time has passed that "free" will turn into a "pay $ if you want to keep it" scenario.

Yep. That free version was the "Legacy" version. The Old one that UAD had many years ago. Its lightweight for the CPU and its not the same. O lot of their plugins have a legacy version, including the Pultec. So it might me the same case...

 

Well, Actually download it now to compare. Seems like the real one, not the legacy. The interface and the sound are the same

Nope. you cant even use it offline. You must have it installed AND online.

 

I think this is incorrect, or incompletely correct. I was trying to force their UA Connect plugin to work on MacOS High Sierra. I had someone check this and it continued functioning after installation of UAConnect, iLok license manager, and the plugins. After removing UA Connect it continued working for them. Maybe it only periodically checks you have it there and re-authorizes? The system requirements of UA Connect are a newer OS version than iLok.

 

Interesting. Im on MacOS sonoma and i cant even open the plugin if i'm offline.

But your iLok Manager software is still installed, and you have let it go online, right? I don't keep any of the developer manager apps installed for any legit iLok stuff. Sometimes you do not even need them there for plugin installation, like UVI.

 

This freebie should be reserved for active Loopcloud subsriptions only. I guess they saw the glitch
