Aside from the plugin name displayed in iLok or the vendor's software manager (i.e. Softube Central, Waves, etc). I think they should do this additional "version/edition name" with all "free" plugins. Bundled with hardware like audio interfaces, or part of a sale, whatever. People trying to sell them for normal resale prices of things they bought is maybe as bad, or even worse; than people trying to sell NFR. It's better than bundled "lite" versions with reduced features.

 

I agree. My UAD Pultec Legacy and this updated Pultec Collection were paid so this freebie should be labeled as such.

Once you get the serial from pluginboutique, head to this page:
https://www.uaudio.com/my/redeem

type in the email from your UAD Account,
paste in the serial and click on "Get my plugin".

Then, head over to the UA Connect App and redeem your free plugins.
You probably have to restart the app to see the perpetual license.

 

there was a page on UA website I sort of stumbled across, where all you had to do was type in your iLok ID. I can't seem to find it. The next time you opened your iLok it was already there, without using UA connect. Or even installing it. UA have given a few nice things away completely for free and maybe you can use them someday. If you install their gateway drug software manager.

Absolutely true. And then UA wants you to install UA Connect. Plugin Boutique hope you like Loopcloud and keep it, or forget to cancel it. UA hope you buy other stuff. People say it is a sign of them needing money, but really they just know what they are doing. It costs them some bandwidth and no matter what; here we are talking about them for 1/x?th the price of a Youtube ad. People will even review them for free and say nice things about their new free stuff.

 

You can remove UA Connect from your computer after plugin installation and they will work without UA's software

To think back in 2014 I paid top dollar for that plugin collection. Oh, boy, we've come a long way. I don't ever use them anymore unless I'm tracking to disk with them.

Where are the vst3 files of the uadx plugins located?
I have downloaded the pultec collection via UA Connect. I thought it would be a good idea to update my other installed plugins as well. Now all plugins are gone. Reaper cannot find them. I can't find them manually anywhere either. UA Connect claims that the plugins are installed. I have "uninstalled" all plugins via UA Connect, "uninstalled" UA Connect, reinstalled, reinstalled the plugins. UA Connect claims again: "installed". But I can't find them anywhere.

Any ideas?
