Great. Now i have to decide wether to buy the one UA plugin i want or a bundle that's 90% stuff i don't care about but it's somewhat cheaper on the long run if i ever change my mind.

From now native UADx plugins can be purchased both in bundles or individually. Now UA is officially full native like PA, SSL, Waves and all others. You are not obligated to buy them either in bundles or with the Spark subscription. However the single prices, despite being between 50 and 60% off, are still extremely expensive.

they were losing a lot against their rivals, so this move was gonna happen soon... which also opens the window to [you know what]

 

i would even go so far as to say way too fucking expensive for what you get. a custom 3 bundle plugin for $700? no thanks. yeah, some of the UAD stuff does sound good but there are tons of companies out there now putting out just as good stuff if not better.

They are not THAT custom tbh, the largest one has everything that has been released native, the next one has everything except the intruments, the last one has the instruments an a couple of other plugins. But it's true, still pretty pricy considering other options. I'm sure they'll find a way to make it work though, i mean...



Yikes. Haven't seen this kind of brainwash since PA. Next one will be mine, probably.

 

the prices are in the "standard UAD range actually", but often during the year users get personal discounts and see cheaper prices when inside the account

I suggest to wait when there will be a period of offers (if they wont change all their system which I am used to...being a hardware user)

during those periods the plugins can be bought with good prices, not so higher than PA, Arturia or the other best companies.

With some patience a good amount of plugins can be collected in a year or so

 

Great news finally from UAD, but the prices are sensationally high considering the competitors. I'll be forced to continue Spark sub, which at the moment is the most viable and cheap solution, even if I hate subscriptions in general. But I have no other choice right now

 

Thanks for the info, just to know: what's the lowest price I can buy a UAD plugin during these big discount periods, based on your experience?

 

I don't know how this online version goes, but if its a choice between PB or UAD direct they often give you vouchers on top of the discounts. No idea how that works though, they just seem to pop up in your account randomly. I seem to think you can get like the 3+1 or 6+2 now and then, which looking at my account was £279 for the 3

I think every time you buy something you might get another voucher if that's useful, but they might last a month or so

 

Something worth pointing out to anyone new to UAD...

If you sign up and get a UAD account your screen might be different to mine where I have an Apollo so could use any plugins. If you get the same options it could be easy to confuse which are Native and which are Apollo, buy something that you need hardware for and no doubt judging by their general outlook in the past they won't give you a refund... So be careful choosing

Interesting how the two categories now are "Native" and "Apollo". It sounds like they're phasing out satellites...?
