After a fresh windows install, I've installed Studio one 5 (no install) from the sister. I've tried installing a couple of the recent U-he synth bundles (no install, 2019.11, 2020.01), g one of those being one that still works on my old rig. Each time installing/uninstalling, cleaning any left over files and registry entries that lay behind. The problem I keep encountering is when I go to drag hive onto my workspace is it says :

Hive.data missing

Couldn't find Hive.data. Do you want to manually search for the folder?

When I do this, and point it to the folder it says it's updated the location to the proper location and it may need to close and re-open my project in order for hive to function. At this point, there's no GUI and if I close project, or program for that matter, it gives me the same error when trying to load hive onto my workspace again.

Anyone encounter this? Any help is appreciated. Going on 5-6 hours.

Hive.data generally is a link to Documents\u-he\Hive on my machine and yes that includes the graphics for the UI, presets, and all.

 

Create a shortcut link of the eg Hive.data folder and put it where the uhe .dll .vst sit!

@poly, that's how it installs. *.data folders in program data, shortcuts to the data folders in the .dll folders (c:/program files/steinberg/vstplugins/u-he) and in the VST3 folders (c:/program files/common files/vst3/u-he). I'm sure it's just an oversight, or some minute detail.

 

Turns out, the installs didn't like the S1 NoInstall. Order has been restored by just installing a daw.

 

The only noinstall type of thing i trust is the Kontakt 6 Portable. Happy to see you got it sorted tho.
