You honestly think there are "dozens thousands" of people writing e-mails to U-he begging them to drop their prices from $129-$149 per plug? Have you yourself done that? Also, are you actually upset with the product itself or just the price of the product? If Diva suddenly dropped to $50 tomorrow, would the "CPU-hog", "is freezing my …", "1-note polyphony", etc. no longer be an issue?

I own a few u-he products, there's a couple that i want and several that don't interest me. For the most part, i consider them worth the money. They are all of a decent quality, fully supported and frequently updated, many of their plugins have no obvious alternatives. Their pricing policy is honest and respectable, they aren't cheap but on the other hand they aren't artificially over-priced. They don't have sales but its easy to find a lot of their stuff second-hand where, due to consistent pricing new, they retain a decent value with no NFR restrictions.

Urs comes across on KVR as a decent knowledgeable bloke with a passion for what he does and pride in creating decent products that people enjoy using. He's also a businessman with a successful company that employs several people and generates decent profits. Where's the problem with that?

The only criticisms i ever encounter for u-he or Urs come from pirates on pirate-friendly boards. It all seems like a whole lot of resentment from a bunch of thieves who begrudge paying for the tools they like to use. You can complain about how their economic sensibilities are misaligned with your own all day, but the choice is yours to buy it or not. Their business model is clearly working well the way it is so why should they change it?
