here I made a video for all Catalina users how to bypass the apple team security to continue
to use openssh plugin using hex editor to change the path rather to /usr/lib to any other locations

 

I keep the dylib files in: Applications/iLok folder

To change the path inside the plugins I'm using Terminal with the following command:
install_name_tool -change /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib /Applications/iLok/libstXX++.6.dylib "drag the plugin executable here"

 

yes it was the same but some people has trouble to install it with a terminal !

 

Can we use this same trick for Sierra 10.12.6?

 

you can use it in any Osx but why should you do it on Sierra ? if you can put the libstdc++.6.dylib to usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib

 

A year ago I tried to disable System Integrity Protection (SIP) but after this my OSX failed and I was forced to reinstall Sierra directly from Apple. For this reason - and I am sure you will understand - I would like not to touch directly Terminal.

So, after this mishap, I preferred a more simple and painless method, I inserted (in Applications) a folder named 'ilok' with 'libstdc ++. 6.0.9.dylib' & 'libstXX++.6.dylib' files inside, but unfortunately many plugs don't work.

I thought your trick could help me. It could be?

yes it should work , but you should change the path you take the ilok folder put it into Applications
then drag and drop it into a terminal I mean open the terminal and drag the folder inside
copy from the terminal the path , then change it with a hex
if the hex corrupt the file you should use windows hex editor

and the best way is this one
open terminal type

I'm just guessing, until somebody tries it. But I would guess that old hardware with new Big Sur would be the only 'maybe' here.
With Big Sur on whatever new hardware they will eventually offer, I'd put money on the fact it will totally bork the system!

 

I know this is an old thread but finally updated to a new machine with Catalina and grabbed most openssh/adobe patched versions to keep the system clean but Kush UBK-1 crashes Logic with validation passed, gatekeeper disabled, osx validate app, any tips to load this fine gentleman? Got Relab, Softube and Eventide loading fine inside Logic 10.6.3
