The catchier melody is the chorus. The one you can't forget when you visit the shitter. Like your fav wav. Everything else is the filler you have to iron out to compliment the chorus in a sensible way.Which is where basic music theory comes in.

I don't know how to make a melody for the verse though, to compliment my chorus melody. When I make my patterns all I make is the chorus pretty much with drums and bass.

 

So you mean you didn't do the first step to from your catchy melody to make your track, well... a track?
This is what I mean, you can only help your self but only of you try.

You have you have basic theory knowledge but you ask how to make your chorus not sound like a different song when it comes to your verse?

All roads start from root note then loop back in context. Don't do the poopies that sound like shit in the middle of that.

Maybe you don't always need to like I said, use chords, rhythm guitars, pads. Whatever, just that it's supportive of the vocals like I've said before. Stretch you melody into the next 4 bars and have it play halftime? So many things you could try, if you actually try. Fuck.

Do yourself a favor and drop a vocal into your arrangement and build around that so you can see what I mean about supporting vocals. Call it practice, don't be afraid for fucks sake.

Just try it becuase I've had my shit on loop for over an hour telling you to unloop and try doing some shit in your track while I haven't done jack shit in mine for close to 2 hours. Just make an attempt.
