Some of us make a beatbox first then transfer that into an drum pattern with drum samples, while the rest of us do everything on the computer without the beatboxing step.

besides it's gk guitar input, the roland gi10 had a mic input... when was that now? early 1990s maybe?
sound to midi conversion and tracking was tricky/lousy/funny if you couldn't hold a note though.
warbling monophonic mayhem, but fun.
and worked pretty well with tin whistle.

Yeah, that's the main problem when using the voice, unless you are a good singer. But one of the gems of MIDI Guitar 2 is that you can program little plugins in Lua in the same plugin. It shouldn't be very difficult to implement some kind of "note stabilizer".

I didn't mention this in the thread about developing VST plugins because has gone off rails time ago, but is a killer feature if you want to program MIDI stuff.

Besides, when you can program like in this MIDI script inside MIDI Guitar you have "memory". That means you can store "old" data. So, you can create a "note stabilizer", but you have also an "anti machine gun effect" script that comes with the plugin.

I think programs like this are the future of music production. I think once production is democratic enough that anyone with no music knowledge can talk into their mic and tell their DAW to "give me a guitar that sounds like NIN and a drum pattern that has a heavy whatever feel" and it can spit out a rough draft of what they want.. that'll be better for everyone

 

That's interesting, but the first step would be to eliminate the need of playing a (MIDI) instrument, not the theory itself.
