Oh yes, this one should be interesting. So, what was the very first record / song that you actually bought yourself? come on, be honest, I'm pretty sure there are going to be some real stinkers here

I had to think hard (and have a little mooch in my old vinyl collection) but mine was

Can't really remember. I think it was the Beatles 1962-66/1967-1970 compilations, and after that probably Rubber Soul.

However, first one that mattered enough to be imported into the village was:

I probably bought the worst 3 albums ever all as my one first purchase. My mom wasn't really into music. So I didn't know what to get. I was like 12 years old when I finally ventured out and I went to a store in the mall that sold music. All of them on cassette. I bought them because they looked cool!

    Ratt - Kiss the Sky

Tone Loc - Loc-ed After Dark

    and finally:

    Britney Fox - Britney Fox.

I especially liked their hair on the cover of Britney Fox!

That probably takes the cake for anyone! I am too lazy to post links. But I'm sure if you looked them up, you would agree that I win.

The first cassette I bought because I actually enjoyed it (not because it looked cool!), was Pink Floyd - The Wall!
