i discover this plugin https://clawdsp.com/ and found an spanish video explainin this for an 1 hour x_x but its really incredible (for me at least) at the min 33, he started to demonstrate about "detector follower" and in 2 or 3 clicks, he demosntrate how well with this tool separates audio without any AI or any sh41t like that.

I was kinda impressed, seems very useful. plus he demonstrate how some transient shapers are kinda " bad " cause they start to act a way too late than they have to.

i cant fully understand if its a various tool in one place or a very very refined audio envelope editor.

^ yeah, the third question is always "is it just AI and some marketing?". Battersea Shaper does most of this envelope "frames" too.

I see "revolutionary detector follower" comments the same way I see claims about "game-changing" ai eq or "next-gen" whatever. It doesn't mean it's automatically snake oil, but that's what something has to proove real results to consider it useful or worth getting. If they can show measurements and explain why their approach is different, maybe we can call it engineering. If the explanation is "our detector is smarter and faster," then it's usually just marketing hype.

There are lots of ways around that as a proprosed "problem", if you even run into it; from the "infinity ratio trick" using Fabfilter Pro-C2/C3 to nudging a midi foward to trigger your sidechain, and envelope tools with faster reaction times and attacks, etc. None of which involve spending 50 bucks on another plugin to solve an already solved problem.

 

Looks great! Really nice transient shaping. If it was $20 I'd pick it up no question, but am a little more hesitant at the $50 range. Especially from a brand new dev. Vibe-coded or not I don't care, Im just wary of new devs, and buying what could potentially be a rug pull of sorts. Sure it works, but will it in another year? Will run the demo, and may end up purchasing either way, we'll see.

Side note, fun video for me to watch. Ive been learning Spanish the last two years, and the video just made me realize I can understand it better than I thought I could. I was able to keep up with probably 75% of what he was saying. woohoo! thanks for sharing.

 

Can you please elaborate on the "infinity ratio trick", and the Pro C nuding midi tricks?! Never heard of these!

 

Set the ratio to infinity, which basically makes a brick-wall limiter effect. Now you control peaks without changing the overall dynamics.

 

I mean, does it really do anything different from what is described in this video? If that's the case, then it's new.
