Does anyone know of a tracker that functions as a VST? There's something called ReVisit that looked promising, but is very buggy/crashed whenever I load it . . .

The only option is Redux, but that's very pricey (I actually own Renoise, I wish they came bundled), and lacks MIDI output.

The idea is to have something that can be triggered by another MIDI input, even if it doesn't output MIDI it would still work.

You'd think there would just be something like this, so you could do sequencing and tracking easily.

If you have the VCV Rack Pro plugin, you can get the Biset modules which includes a tracker sequencer, there’s a video out there of it and if you can’t get VCV Pro, it’s in the free Cardinal plugin, but that has less overall modules and is more condensed and can even host plugins without extra pro modules.

Walkthrough video in standalone, you can use it with midi and as a midi effect in the workstation of choice

Not many options as I know
Reaper has a tracker user script Hackey-Trackey https://github.com/JoepVanlier/Hackey-Trackey:

If you are on windoze the option is old tracker from Bero that runs as VST https://blog.rosseaux.net/page/300d417e87213ac755f25ea46767d2ae/BeRoTracker:

One more option is to route virtual midi cables from tracker that outputs midi to any track in your DAW with something like LoopMidi. https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html

You could probably do this with Seqund inside Renoise. On Mac, we have IAC instead of LoopMidi, but it's the same basic idea.

I mostly want to be able to trigger specifically tracker style stuff. Redux actually works with samples relatively easy, I just have to have extra money to buy a copy, plus it would be kind of useful if it could have MIDI out of the pitches, at least, to use with synths/etc . . . .

The two 32 bit ones seems really buggy when using jbridge, I tried BeRo and it just doesn't even load correctly at all. I'll see about the Cardinal Rack one, I've gotten it to load, but I know nothing about Cardinal or VCV rack, so it's hard to tell if it does what I want or not at this point.

Its should be easy download Cardinal https://cardinal.kx.studio/ - open as a vst plugin in DAW, and route midi out from it to the DAW tracks or instruments and backwards

Skale tracker - long gone its 20years old you can get only here https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=20929 - it can run as VSTi but didn't test.
MadTracker - no VSTi only sinc with Rewire which is now obsolete too
