Do you have your own backing track? Maybe a grid? How did you make it?

 

yes it was done to a grid with a deleted rap which was more of a mumble. The original track was slightly rushed in terms of how much time was spent.
I thought these vocals might inspire a different take all together from the fine talent on this forum.

 

If you could make it available with a click to save workload, I could give it a go. It's sprung some ideas in my head.

Trying to help someone's project got a removal and a reprimand to stay ON TOPIC.

Posting tracks and comments related to those tracks inside the thread would get very messy very fast, hence the move.
The idea behind community album is to make something original. That's why no mashups or remixes are allowed. It has been like that for the last 3 albums we have made (one not entirely successful).

It's nothing personal, tracks weren't meant to be posted and discussed there.

You're still very welcome to participate, if you choose so.
Why not get creative and write and record that vocal so it resonates with the core theme of the album?

That's my daughter getting very creative when she was only supposed to enhance a shitty mumble rap.

Nothing about your piece you posted above, just a general perspective.

What I want is not relevant in this case. Every member should decide on their own whether he or she wants to be part of the project. Of course I wish everyone on this board participated, as the first endeavour brought us all together and one could say it was a golden age. But if we end up with just 3 tracks, it's good too.

Maybe i took this a little personal. It's probably because it seems like you 'rejected' my daughter's track for your project.
What is clear from all your posts is that my daughter's track is not welcome.

The two characters that make up the word MUSIC in Japanese is:
sound
fun

Who cares who's perspective it is? As long as a few of us were just about ready to embark on a fun little collab, inspired by you? Maybe a little sound fun was to be had?
You do realize by the stance you keep reiterating, you have extinguished an inspiration? As a mod maybe you should encourage collabs instead of stiffing it.

I wasn't planning on a remix. I actually wanted to use the original vocals and re-compose a whole tune based on that vocal line. Since the song is unpublished and the music composition gets reworked (not planning even to use the original and non-existing arrangement -I want to rework even the chord progession). I have a proposal, @Andrew and @dragonhill: Let me work it out, start a collab, and if the song ends up to be good enough, it could be considered. At the end of the day, we all want a good Xmas feeling of collaborative participation, right?

 

No, the reason why your daughter's track doesn't seem to be fit for the project is simply because it's not built on the foundation of your own perception of Christmas, which is the core idea of the project. Write a song on that basis and let her sing in it, and everything's fine.

I encourage collabs all the way, they have that element of communication challenge, which then seen flowered in action is marvelous.

But the foundation of collaboration must be set in place before venturing further. The idea behind Christmas album, is in summary your track has to come from your heart. In other words, the result should be as personal as it gets.

I apologize if you deemed the "rejection" personally. It was not the intention.
