I'd imagine it's SD3 (without even watching the video), with some of the great functionality they added to EZDrummer….

Toontrack does a big event called "metal month" on Novembers. It includes a big festival with bands such as Messhuggah, Soilwork, etc. "Incidentally" they usually release something metal-related as well. Last year it was the long awaited Metal! EZX.

Let's hope this year they do something similar! Not sure about Superior Drummer 3, as it is not really metal-related; but it would be awesome!!! (and maybe they can do something about the construction interface!).

I have read rumours here and there about a new Metal Foundry as well.

Superior 3 would be sooo good. Fingers crossed!

    I'm 57 y-old.
    More metal? I'm out.

    Nooooo!
    More music.
I'd love to see the new SD3 with the mounted kits from the best drummers of all time, of different styles: you name it - John Bonham, Phil Collins, Steve Gadd, Manu Katché, Stewart Copeland, Ian Paice, Neil Peart, Barriemore Barlow, Alan White (Yes), Bill Bruford, Chad Wackerman, Paul Wertico, Nick D'Virgilio, Mike Portnoy, Billy Cobham, Vinnie Colaiuta, John Weathers (Gentle Giant)

    More metal?
No one can honestly figure out the difference among the snare sound of the present 'metalist' drummers. They sound the same.

Speed is just what matters today.
... and speed hides the poor quality of the bad drummers.

There's never enough metal.... NEVER! :)

I also find the snares different. It took me a while to actually choose one. My favourites are the black beauty and the John Tempesta Sig.

It would be cool if Toontrack released at least presets for the sounds of great drummers. I'd love one of George Kollias, Inferno, Igor Cavalera, etc.

In my opinion, a shitty drummer will do a shitty job playing fast or slow. If you ask Phil Collins to do a blast beat, he'll do an amazing one (there was a video where he jokes around playing a blast beat for a few seconds and it sounds awesome! I can't find it).

Same thing, if you ask Dave Lombardo to play a samba or softer groove, he'll do a flawless job. I think a good drummer should be able to play anything well. My drum teacher, who also taught me double-bass control and speed control/techniques, was at the time taking spanish drum lessons, and he was amazing.

I dont really know this band Rivers of Nihil, but on their facebook they wrote:

We will be doing something special for Toontrack for Metal November. Stay tuned. These "big things" are off the chain. (quote from https://www.facebook.com/riversofnihil)

There are RoN music videos on youtube if anyone wants to check them out.

Anyone else find any other clues, pls post here :)

Made of Metal EZX (69 €)

Utter drum perfection from the father of the modern metal sound, Colin Richardson.

    FEATURE SPOTLIGHT
    • Produced and mixed by Colin Richardson, engineered by Carl Bown
    • Drums sampled by Jason Bowld
    • Four (4) full kits (DW, Mapex, Tama, Truth)
    • One extra snare, kick and tom option
    • Large assortment of cymbals
    • Five (5) mix-ready kit presets
    • Includes a selection of MIDI drum grooves

Few producers are cited as pioneers, for having helped shape the sound of a genre or generation of bands. With landmark releases by the likes of Slipknot, Machine Head, Carcass and many others, British Colin Richardson is undoubtedly one of them. Add to that world-class drummer Jason Bowld (Axewound, Pitchshifter), arguably one of the most meticulously crafted studio facilities in the world as well as a handpicked collection of top-shelf drums and you have the key components in the Made of Metal EZX.

The Made of Metal EZX was recorded at Belgium’s Galaxy Studios, a recording facility crafted with unparalleled detail. Their wood-lined, hall-like main room, in which four complete kits were captured, bring out the very essence of the instruments. The deep, reverberant presence of the toms, the crisp textures of the cymbals and the piercing attack of the snares and kicks.

Put all this in the powerful framework of EZdrummer 2 and you have the most raging, ear-numbing and dynamic collection of drums for any metal or hard rock production.

Metal stuff indeed, but latest trend seems to be that anything related to metal is not going to be released. :D
