Hello longtime lurker, i've been trying to get three expansions from the ezx line, which i've gotten from the sister site, to work with SD3 but they all give me a error saying i've got to update them the expansions are:
    • The Blues EZX
    • Indie Folk EZX
    • Number 1 Hits EZX
    • Pop! EZX
Anyone can tell what version is required for these to run on SD3.
    Thank you!

Are you sure you are being asked to update your expansions?
firstly, there is a different dependency and only SD3 may need to be updated. so reread the message. and in such matters, it is better to add a screenshot.
secondly, you apparently tried to install expansions using the installer from the archive? this can only be installed with licennse for expansion. you just need to copy the folders from the archive to the corresponding directories of your SD3 library.

I have Superior Drummer 3.2.3 and these 4 libraries. It works with that constellation. The versions of the libraries are
    • The Blues EZX (1.0.0)
    • Indie Folk EZX (1.0.0)
    • Number 1 Hits EZX (1.5.0)
    • Pop! EZX (1.5.1)
    Hope that helps.

I'm running sister-site's version (I think that's what you meant instead of constellation) 3.2.3 same as you. And got this on the number 1 hits for example:

The version the program is reporting is this one (which i've got the updates from the sister site too)

    Hi, now speaking buddy

SD looks up the version of the selected set in a file named "aversion" in the set's subdirectory and decides if it's fully compatible to the program version you're running. If not, you get the error you showed us.

As a workaround for the time until you can get the actual version, you can edit the "aversion" file in the relevant directory where the EZX sets reside for "No1 Hits" it's "...EZDrummer\EZX_No1_Hits".
[You'll find the actual path in the Superior Drummer interface under "Settings-Liraries/paths-Additional libraries EZ Drummer Sound Libraries (EZXs)]
Change the aversion file in this subdirectory with a text editor from 1.0.0 or 1.5.0 to 1.5.1
Save the "aversion" file and make sure to delete any .extension (not "aversion.txt" or something just "aversion")

It should work so far. I tested it here a moment ago. Only the newest features (I didn't find any btw) won't work of course.

P.S.: This workaround (or should I better call it fiddling) also works for Superior drummer sets if you have the newest SD version but not the newest EZX/SDX version. If you update to the newest EZX/SDX version your manual changes are overwritten, so you won't have to roll it back first.

    Hi,
I have the same problem as @jorzef with the libraries.
    • The Blues EZX (1.5.0)
    • Indie Folk EZX (1.5.0)
    • Number 1 Hits EZX (1.5.0)
I tried the @twoheart trick by changing the aversion file with text edit ... nothing to do!
    It still does not work.
    I am on mac High Sierra / Logic pro x / SD 3.2.3 / SD Lib 1.2.0

All the other Libs on the sister site are working fine.

    Thanks for your help

I tested it with Number 1 Hits and it works with SD 3.2.3. But I'm on Windows 10.
I suspect Mac works a little differently. Is there a kind of versioning or caching? I would try to find other versions of the "aversion" file related to the drum set on your Mac.

Better late than never i guess rofl

Your fix didn't work for me i think the way sd3 works is by using a soundb*.obw file and that file is included in some updates released on the sister site.

I guess you're using legit ones right, or did you get them on the sister site?

    Thanks for all the help!

I sold all my toontrack licenses, but I made a backup of all the extensions and add-ons I had.

Fair enough guess it would be asking to much for you to share the libraries that are missing the updates wouldn't it?

SD and EZD can see the change I made in the aversion file, but I still get the same message asking me to update and @jorzef has always the same problem as me.
We will wait for an update.
    Thanks again my friend :mates:

Ahh. I see, where the problem is for #1 hits.
You most likely use a really old version. The newer ones I downloaded (I don't remember where atm) are in EZX2 format containing a folder called "GraphicsV2". Without this folder no drum set will open in SD3. So without this prerequisite my workaround doesn't solve your problem.
I'll try to investigate where I downloaded the update to "GraphicsV2".

It's true, I don't know which ones and versions but many EZDrummer2 libs got upgraded basically to be (more?) compatible with Superior Drummer 3.
Besides tricks and tweaks try to install the ones updated for SD3. It's been a while so pretty much anyone in the last 1-2 years should cut it.

OK. With the release "Toontrack EZdrummer v2.0.0 WiN, MacOSX Incl Patched and Keygen R2R" on sister site the updated Graphics V2 files are installed into "c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Toontrack\EZDrummer\" for #1 hits and others:

    13-11-_2020_17-27-01.jpg

But it's only the "Graphics V2" stubs for those drum sets.
You can now install the drum kits but don't overwrite the "Graphics V2" directory (I don't use an installers but copy the directory under "contents"). If needed apply workaround.

BTW: It's a bit fiddly to get all drum-sets working under SD3. However, you only have to do this once when you save the files after successful installation. Then you can simply move them back over when you reinstall.
