I have a question, what is the folder where the expansions install to? I checked ProgramData/Toontrack folder and I have 2 of the same folder it appears, one is EZ Drummer and one is EZ Drummer 3. Is this supposed to be this way? They contain the same expansions bascially, However some in the EZ Drummer 3 folder don't show up in the program. Also will EZ drummer 2 expansions work or just 3? Also the folders aren't the same size EZ Drummer is 59 gb and Ez Drummer is 40 gb

The EZDrummer 2 expansions will work in EZDrummer 3 as long as they are updated to work in EZD 3... That is to say, in order to move an EZX 2 to EZDrummer 3 you will need to find and apply the appropriate update to bring it up to EZD 3 specs. The reason for this is that EZdrummer 3 is a redesigned app that includes many functions and requirements that are not present in EZDrummer 2.

The existence of two folders for EZdrummer and EZdrummer 3 is intentional and has technical reasons.
Here are the most important points:

    Different software versions:

EZdrummer 3 is the successor version of EZdrummer 2 and offers new functions, an updated user interface and additional content. Both versions can remain installed in parallel to ensure backwards compatibility or if users wish to continue working with the older version.

    Different libraries and extensions:

The folders contain the respective core libraries and extensions (EZX) that are optimized for the specific version. While many EZX extensions are backwards compatible (e.g. from EZdrummer 2 to EZdrummer 3), some newer content may only work with the current version.

    Difference in folder size:

The size difference between the folders (59 GB vs. 40 GB) could be due to different installed content, such as additional EZX extensions or MIDI files that are only available in one of the two versions.

Problems with missing extensions in EZdrummer 3:

If certain extensions are not displayed in EZdrummer 3, this could be due to incorrect paths or a database that has not been updated. Check in the EZdrummer 3 settings whether the correct installation path for the extensions is specified or update the database.

When you install any EZX or SDX for Superior drummer, it specifies a path that you can change to your own.
Additionally, EZDrummer 3 any version from 3.01 onwards will find and load all EZDrummer libraries, even the EZDrummer 1 libraries.

If you open Settings\ Libraries/Paths in the menu (below capture) it will tell you where each is installed
    - Then if you decide to move them to a different drive, close EZD, and all you have to do after moving is go back in ignoring the can't find errors and point it to where you moved them.

YES, all libraries can be in the same folder whether version 1,2, or 3 as you can see in the final images.

If you wish to put all three versions of EZX libraries in the same folder this is sort of what it should look like after moving

For ezdrummer prior installs I have done, I found the easiest way to do it was to install the core library and any updates first. I put them in a folder called /ezdrummer at the root of an external drive. All the content is already structured correctly enough to get started in those releases, so you can just literally dump it all into that folder unceremoniously. Then install the plugin and point it to that folder on the external drive in its settings.

The first time I read this tip wherever I got it, I was thinking there is no way this is going to work. But I have probably done it ten times since then. I think installing content first and then the plugin always works better. Especially with Omnisphere and EZ anything.
