"Corrupting our music is like listening to lies" is another great idea of his, so when he talks about the amazing book and scientific treatise concerning sound and how it relates to humans "Your Brain On Music" (really, a must read), Tony informs us that when someone is listening to music that they do not like, that adrenaline is released and we go into fear and flight mode. So, we have music given to the masses that is untruthful and purposely grating on our beings compared to endorphin releasing higher quality sounds, and in addition are fed lies by advertisers and politicians which do exaxtly the same thing, no wonder so many people are walking around pissed off and ready to throw down. We live in a giant sound bubble of lies. It only compounds and makes the situation we find ourselves in even worse when people buy into all the bullshit flung around and defend it to the teeth as goodly and normal. People become used to horrible situations very easily and live within systems that are unhealthy and surly go as far to even defend the nightmare, treating it as an important and inherent part of themselves, and I believe this because change is equally or even harder to deal with in many situations than living in the mire, stepping out and washing off the muck and goo of the shit stew we continually create as a species at our most base and lowest. Tony might be totally on it, change the quality of our sound in order to save the world. Hey, what do you know, we're at the right forum for that!.

You're exactly right my friend. This video was very informative and definitely gets at the root of much bigger issues concerning the bullshit we are all being fed en masse. But I have also noticed the blatant slowing down of popular music, hence this trap sub genre i've had the displeasure of hearing. Plus, like you and Tony Andrews mentioned people aren't getting the alternative much better sounds so their ears and psyche are getting accustomed to garbage then they turn around and defend that same garbage, because they have no basis of comparison. And if the music is upbeat it's either manic or pop and really dumbed down.

There are many problems though with what he's saying.

First off, MP3s belongs to 1996, not sure why he mentions them, it's ancient format with lots of limitations. Today we have OGG-Opus and True-VBR LC-AAC.
Through ABX blind testing, 224+kbit LC-AAC is considered transparent.
Then he talks about 96/24 as the minimum to human hearing. If that's true, then how come none of 600 blind-test participants were able to discern differeces between 44/16 and 96/24?

As for DAC, it's only as good as clock allows, the jitter largely depends on PCB layout, and comparing even substandard DAC+Amp with 1% THD+N to valve amps with 3% THD+N, digital still wins.

But most of his other points are valid.
