Not a major update. I don't necessarily hate companies labeling relatively insignificant updates as entirely new, major versions (D16 recently did this with lush 2) but I don't agree with making existing users pay for it. I believe this should be free update for existing users & the new version number is just a way to advertise the product, make it seem new and exciting for people who haven't bought it before. I'm not in the business of selling audio plugins though so I don't know how viable that'd be...but I do know a fair few companies who seem to be getting by just fine without doing this.

 

More than that, Tone2 used invasive protection with Gladiator (and may be more).

I was there when they closed their KVR account, because a LEGIT customer got the famous "administrative alert" shutting down his computer.
I know it ... i got the same.

And their "psycho acoustic" tricks are just killing transients and "meat" of the sound.

Nothing sounds more "hollow" than Tone2 synths for this price.
Even if Saurus and Nemesis reduced those "psycho acoustic" tricks.

You know ... the same they tried to sell as "mastering" processor : AkustiX
I would NEVER put this thing on master bus.

If you want to kill any trace of life on your master ... use it

You can't really blame them for listing the presets before this commonly requested feature.

 

WRONG

The dev implemented an "administrative alert" in Gladiator when a SINGLE file is modified or moved.
Try to move the Gladiator key file outside the folder and see.
It closes the WHOLE computer in less than 10 seconds.

Tone2 plugins (even free ones) SCAN the whole system to find other Tone2 plugins AND ReFX Vanguard, PlastiCZ!, Slaye.
Guess what happens then ...
