Man, I tried every limiter out there, I mean almost every, and I can't make any limiter sounds nice past 3-4db of reduction, the moment it goes into 4-5db of reduction, I hear farts in the low end, I hear those farts on a lot of commercial records, but I don't like it... I like to make it loud and fartless... I was using Pro-L for a long time, simply for visual feedback and ISP, and was trying combination of clipping and limiting, catching the highest peaks with clipper and then limit with Pro-L, I could never get good results as soon as I approach 3db of reduction, no matter what settings, no matter which mode, I can always hear the farts... I started to sacrifice low end for the sake of loudness, and try to put less bass in it but make it like it's there, with distortions etc while mixing...

For example, I hear those farts on this new Rihanna single "Wild Thoughts", or Future "Fuc up some commas", or Weeknd - Starboy...

And then I quit clipping, and revert back to my old combo that I wasn't using for more than 5 years, Oxford Limiter followed by good old L2, they are not transparent, they make the signal mushy, but still, they don't fart, the combination of sonnox's limiter and inflate (enchance) function is perfect, with just barely catching peaks it makes it very loud, I just bring another 2db with L2 for ultra loud, and if I want to hear some edges of the transients, but not make the signal too loud because it will distort, I'm turning up the attack on the Sonnox a bit or to the max... I may try clipping followed by sonnox though, but I think that Sonnox really shines if it gets "unlimited" signal to mush it up and distort with it's enchance function.

That being sad, I'll try new Limiter6 and report what I hear :D I remember liking the old one, but I really got put off because of vu-meter style reduction meters, it doesn't give me a nice visual feedback for what I hear, which usually is not, but it is somehow very important to me while "mastering".

I just demoed it. My impression is that it stays stable for a very long time before the sound breaks up. But as good as this is it provokes one to crank the mix way too hot. At some point I was at -4 PLR which is ridiculous :D
