My friend, this is a quick idea. I was about to call it a day and go to bed, but I liked your idea so much that I had to so something about it. It's just two different, complementary bass lines. If you think they go in the direction you want, feel free to improve upon and own them. I hope this bass idea serves some inspiration. If not, at least, I gave it a hand. All the best to you.

Of course, buddy. Once the track is more complete, I'll shoot a line.

    All sounds good to me.
Who cares if the guitar sounds natural or not.

When you start adding the recurring C D F around 0:55, that F note is clashing with the Am chord and the C note kinda clashes with the G chord to me.

Herr Durr thank you for the nice compliment. I really appreciate it. Even though I think I am ok on the guitar.

Herr Dunn if you would like to do the rhythm I would really like it. It's a basic 3 or 4 chord. From what I remember this morning it's Amin, F and G. I know Amin was the first chord

Of course it does, a la AC/DC. For it to work, the guitar needs to be less dense in the chord strumming. It was thought of as a sequence like Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer, or did I not nail it?

Anyway, please, if you can think of an improvement over the bass line, by all means go fo it. Let's serve the song.

To be honest. I hear no clashing and if it is clashing in musical theory, maybe bad. In sound, or how it sounds it works.

strums are all downstrokes, gives a robotic feel, unnatural.
    but who cares

The F is distributing, possibly unwanted, tension in the low mid range with that E note on the acoustic.

On a keyboard or piano roll, play an Am chord with the notes from high to low C, A and E.
Now with your left hand add a F right above that E and a lower A for the bass.
The chord is technically Fmaj7 over A but usually the F and E are seldom used side by side in the lower registers.

The F is a fine passing note. Try a quick 16th note slide down to E from F. Now it works every time except the third G chord. Might have to change the C to a B.

If Bon Jovi, soon to be inducted into the RnR hall of fame by Howard Stern, was your inspiration the notes G, A and C might work all the way thru. Basically your idea done a fourth lower or a fifth higher.

Of course all this is dependent on the melody.

Ok this is a real quick shot. One take a few errors also. Makes it human. LOL

Coming in late on this... But good going @spyfx ... The groove and the chord progression are quite catchy...

The first bassline by @mercurysoto is also pretty apt... Though I would change a few notes in it as @dragonhill suggests... This is purely personal of course...havent been able to hear 2nd bassline as its not loading... Will try again in a bit...

Looking forward to hearing the others' contribution...

This song surely needs some vocals! Like someone mentioned... A low vocal line like Mark Knopfler... Or even a higher one... Who knows... But vocals will elevate this one for sure! :)

    This is an exciting thread!

Didn't shred it up to preserve the emotion of song :headbang: Sorry for one take record.
If it was mine I woud rearrange it to repeat the melody and make it more memorable.

That was cool, but IMHO more sustain or reverb or both for tails to blend in(this is just my opinion)
