this was sort of a joke post, but also I guess I am wondering if anyone here (besides whichever forum user is actually the guy making the videos behind the mask hahaha. anyone seen beat 16 lately? maybe he's been taking dialect coaching and watching skillshare on creating video essays) has watched any of the bad hair detectives videos.

I feel like the forum would be entertained at least, and imo regardless of even if what he says is accurate the plugin scene on YouTube would be better with more like this, less like "oh yay waves is going subscription and because I'm sponsored I'll tell you how good that is!"

to be clear- bad hair detectives channel is FULL of drama, but from what I watched it does seem to be more or less constrained to the world of audio plugins.

I find him a little cringy but not completely crap i guess. Not my cup of tea.

Also, what's the deal with this guy? Because i remember there was another thread about him not long ago and apparently it's no longer there.

Oh, i was talking about bad hair detective, not the dude with the bad hair .

 

yeah I would describe his humor as abrasive I think hahaha, and that's normally not my go to by default but the more I thought about it the more I enjoy how "contextually punk" it is. like if it was the same deal but instead of music plugins it was some dude screaming about sewing kit scams id be all for it.

 

I think he's genuinely funny most of the time. Also - his production quality is unironically the best of any of the YouTube channels I watch. Even if it's part of the shtick - it's refreshing to hear a bit of honesty on YouTube for once instead of the inescapable "this plugin is so different, just incredible! click my affiliate link in the description".

I've never ever, where do you guys find this stuff. The guy is speaking his mind, it seems entertaining but it's just an old shtick in a very small niche. Monty Python for plugins and there is comedic value as well as some interesting piss takes.

Maybe there is a similar channel for comedic reviews about reviews of people who review hammers for a living.

Thanks for sharing, it was funny for a bit of time but there is only so much time in a day and too much Youtube means not enough -- everything else --.

Let him enjoy it, by the looks of things the roof is not going to be there for much longer anyway. He will be able to find opportunities as a Yul Brenner impersonator in the not too distant future without medical intervention.

It reminds me of Synth Punks shit stirring. 2 mins in and it's clear they think they are a lot funnier than they actually are.

 

Didnt know about the channel before but the Rick Beato I Hate Autotune video made me splurt my coffee all over my keyboard.....have to go on Amazon now... and i'm already broke ! Thanks !
