Thank you Kearnsy, I couldn't have said it better myself. However, don't criticise the uploaders or cracker teams. Whether it's constructive or not, you'll get your nuts cut off by the fanboys. Believe me, I learned my lesson. Unfortunately, the politicallly correct fanboy crowd is taking over the whole internet. Enjoy freedom of speech while you can, brother.

I know I'm a little late to respond but by no means should that indicate that it was because of a lack of interest on my part, on the contrary I wanted to wait until I had some "free time" to give it the proper treatment. I actually caught this thread after an especially trying week and you can ask Introninja and Xsze but we were talking about this exact subject in a PM. I had been letting off some steam which tends to build up from time to time and felt really drained and low. There are days when I stare into space for a while before rolling up my sleeves and getting to work. I look at my task list and the dread creeps in and you begin to doubt how it can even be done, I know SAiNT hits this wall as well. Working here can be very demoralizing at times as people are always more likely to let their dissatisfaction show than any appreciation for anything you do. One can dismiss this for a day or two but eventually no matter how dedicated or focused one might be it begins to take it's toll. In fact I know quite a few administrators that chose to shut down because it just got to be too much. People forget that you're a human being too and besides these endeavors you also have your own trials out in the real world just like anyone else. I sacrificed a lot to be here to help build the forums and nobody knows that better than my team. I had to come to terms with the fact that I wouldn't have much time to write music, that I wouldn't have time for much of anything really, that it would be so fucking stressful that you couldn't even possibly imagine. For example the other day after attending to my real world job I came in to roughly 40 messages just in my AudioSex mailbox and each one was a project, my AudioZ mailbox is full at the moment (1,000 messages). Answering all those people like a human being rather than a robot takes a lot of time and care.

While I have worked here I had many things going on in my own life from health problems to deaths in the family and it was (and is) very difficult to keep pushing on in the face of that with the resistance I would get (and still get) and this job would be challenging even if things were smooth but it would certainly be a lot easier and more rewarding. Nothing like working your ass off for days on end with no sleep and barely time to eat only to hear the ingrate whiners bitching about links or some other trivial nonsense. The selfishness that has become so commonplace in a place where so much is freely given is really disheartening to say the least and at this point it's affecting many other areas, a lot more than has been made public. You have the people that don't even bother reading the rules, you have the people complaining about links (even when we include 6 or more different hosters), you have the people asking for reups without checking all the links (so I have to do it for them), you have the people posting 30 times the same thing because someone didn't help them the minute they wanted, people PMing me with nonsense, people posting requests in release threads, people being disrespectful to the uploaders, staff and other members, etc. Many can't put in perspective just how many members we have so people breaking the rules and not being understanding is a problem that quickly becomes magnified a thousandfold and makes more work for all of us. There are also only a handful of us that consistently help so we are stretched thin and I noticed that the more we do, the more we are expected to do. The only thing that nobody knows until now is that I actually turned down a very lucrative job because I had already made a commitment here and I didn't have the time or energy to do both. I also am behind the interesting side-projects that we're working on some of which have been made public already such as the AudioSexed album and the precursor to my PostDB idea to endeavors that have yet been undisclosed. So when do I have time for myself? I don't. I pretty much work all day and night for free, if I'm lucky I might take some time to watch a show a couple of times a week but usually that's just for the time it takes to eat. Sometimes the only thing standing between you and an abyss is a post like this to remind you of what you're doing it for. I can't tell you how much your message means to me, proof of what I always say: we never know how much we affect each other in passing. If you really want to thank us then the best thing you can do is not pay us back but pay it forward. Realize that you have the power to change things for the better for someone you know or even a stranger and oftentimes it can be done with simply a kind word at the right time. AudioZ has always been a great forum but we've really come a long way this year and we still have many exciting things planned for both forums so stay tuned. Finally thank you for taking time out of your day to think about ours. I salute you my friend. [IMG]

Or do you have some clever monkey doing it? Maybe your using voice -to- speech software because for the life of me it would've taken me at least three days to write lol. Much Luv

What are you doing out here, back to work Coco. [IMG]

Unfortunately no monkeys or text-to-speech but I'm actually considering that for the future because I'm tired. [IMG]

Thanks so much Intro and a great big heartfelt thanks for all your help in making my life easier and supporting the forums.[IMG]

Sometimes I don't know how we do it either, I really don't. A big heartfelt thanks for all your help as well, I seriously can't imagine there was a time when I did this all myself.[IMG]

    Can't tell, sorry..
    I don't know either...

But I do know that the guys behind the system deserve to live forever... Yeah.

The wisest man who ever lived said: “There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.” Do you believe in this principle?
Hehehe, I think they (the guys behind the system) do..

    Cheers.

    Hey Catalyst whatsup brother

Sorry I didn't mean to bump this thread again but I've been abroad for a couple of months and I missed your post completely and I just read it and thought that I'd reply. You know you're an Audioz addict when you're sitting in a picturesque jungle in tranquility watching the sunset with no technology around and all you can say to yourself is 'I wonder what dropped on Audioz today.'

I'm actually very sorry to hear the site is such a massive sacrifice to your wellbeing and social life. I thought just as much, which is why I started the thread in the first place. I wanted to let everybody behind the scenes know that you guys may think at times that the work you do is thankless but I and others think that what you do is incredible and you are all rockstars to some of us. It's not just for the software that you share but the educational tools on here are phenomenal and with your help I'm learning about so many things that I'd have to go to university for to learn. It's like I'm studying for multiple degrees at once and I wouldn't be able to afford that kind of education if not for the site that you guys built. Whether or not I succeed in creating music that means something and is appreciated by others or not, you have provided me with a platform to expand my knowledge and there is already a few lifetimes worth of learning on here and I'm a person who needs to be working on and learning something new every day and you've helped to fill that massive void that I need just to get through my day.

There's no way that I can show my appreciation enough other than to offer a small gesture of my sincerest gratitude. It pisses me off when I see people complaining, so I can't even imagine what it must do to you and you're a better man than me as I probably would have shut up shop a long time ago with all of the nonsense that I see. But you have my assurance that I for one will never beg for reups and requests or have my hands out for anything as every thing you release is like a gift to me and I still find it staggering that you ask for nothing in return other than a bit of respect and decency. But that's the world that we live in unfortunately; where magnanimity is undervalued and gratitude is expensive.

You are making a massive difference and the seeds that you're planting will one day come to fruition with those among us who make a difference thanks to you. I can't speak for anyone else but if I ever do make a difference on a significant scale myself then it will have been upon the foundations of this site and your tireless efforts and I won't be bashful in pronouncing that fact and giving credit where it is rightfully due. Actually, after reading what you just wrote I strongly suggest that you need to spend less time on the site and more time for yourself. It sounds like you are so busy trying to help the lives of others that you are sacrificing your own and that is no way to live. So what we'll get these awesome free gifts that you provide for us less often. I'd take that over having you guys behind the site becoming locked away and chained to your screens all day. My technological knowledge doesn't stretch too far past using Audioz but if there is ever anything I can do to help the site to ease your burdens then you just need to pm my inbox and I'll do whatever I can. You've already given me far more than I could have ever wanted and for the record I think you run the best site on the entire net.

The more I read the audioz forums now that I'm back the more that I'm actually surprised to see people with so similar viewpoints to mine that I haven't seen much of anywhere else on the net. I have a feeling that if a lot of us talked there wouldn't be too much disparity between our points of view on issues from music to politics and I find it unique that the site has drawn a certain type of people once you subtract the vultures that will always be on every site. It is a special place unlike any other that I've seen and it's a testament to all of your team's hard work. So thank you for all you do and no matter what idiots get you down just know that there are others like me who have your back and value you highly as a human being and not just as a name on a screen. And that goes for everyone else who works so hard on the site.

P.S. You really need to get that donations link up and running. Seriously. And get out of the house more often. I hear planet of the apes is a good watch

    Much love. Armyofone
