No! There's nothing new or refreshing about it. It's just the same old, same old type melody wrapped in rap style packaging with the same old production that we've been drowned in for so long!!... Even the production is stale and repetitive. Nothing new here! Hey maybe it's just me. After all I am getting on in age. I remember when music actually gave you shivers up the back of your spine and a lot of it was to do with the fact that it was new and original. The elites own the record industries now and push this crap for the masses to dumb them down!!
Our generation from maybe 40 upwards remember quality music of different styles that spoke to your soul. The next generation wont know what decent music is because they will grow up with this shit and believe it to be good because there will be nothing to measure it against!

The old generation started everything from the notes but new generation think about the sounds and strange arrangements. Notes are always secondary in their flows. They look at the notes as spice not the main meal.

It's more of a sound collage rather than an actual song with real instruments with a Couple of verses, a chorus and a middle 8. Melody and harmony has been hijacked and replaced with rap and smart rythmic ponderings. There's no personality in these efforts now. I guess I'll just have to accept it and continue to fall back on my trusted faithful music of the past!

This is not fresh at all. I too am gen x. It kind of sucks because it's difficult to find "fresh" these days.

Playing with the notes is harder than sounds. Everyone can pick a DAW and mess around totally randomly with it and connect the produced parts together without concerning themselves about anything.

Unfortunately whatever they produce sounds good to them. Maybe I should revise my view about good.

You gave us a track to listen to and then changed it half way through some feedback. What gives mate?

Well it's all watered down these days foster. I feel like an old fuddy duddy snob because of my views on this subject but at the end of the day I have to stick with my own instincts here. Where has the personality gone? A good rock/pop band is hard to find in the mainstream these days.

You can ask those questions from Ableton, Image-Line and many others. Maybe it's time to destroy them or make their use so limited for people who intend to use them correctly, like drugs. :dunno:

This may not be radio friendly but its a production masterpiece. If you know how to market it, can probably go somewhere :like::like:

Throw it away, your Computer and your DAW, and - perhaps - some fresh will arise...
