Hi Guys,

I'm on macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 & My 9.7.3 Live version was working perfectly fine yesterday, and now every time I exit out of live & reopen it, it says "this authorization file is invalid on this computer."

I tried everything from re-patching and total reinstall, and it always tell me that the license is invalid with this computer.

PLEASE HELP

 

Why the troll comments for a simple question.. Seriously your people suck at trolling and best you can say is "did you contact support to see if your banned" how about you try the same with all cracked software... Seriously what was even the point wasting the time with such a dumb comment. I'll apologize if this was a sarcastic joke but these type of comments are becoming too common from people with no right to make them.

Make sure the .auz file & the script are in the Apps folder when you run them. Also reset permissions on the app, the .auz and the script.

I tried everything you said and it always says that. When you said to reset permission on the app the aux and the script, do you mean to unlock the padlock ? I'm completely at a lost, everytime I try to install Live I can't and frustrates me so much. Can it be that the High Sierra and 9.7.3 aren't compatible ?

nop, theres a few ways to reset permission of which this is probably the easiest:

Just drag/drop the files on there and 'reset'.
again make sure the .auz file and the to be run terminal command (script) are in the Applications folder next to the Live app.
Ableton 9.x.x should run in High Sierra.

 

yoooo so i was just having this problem with the ableton live 10 suite from R2R where the "file not valid for this computer" thing kept popping up when i tried to authorize Ableton Live 10 Suite and I realized this was happening because i did not properly block the program from reaching out like they said to do in the note attached so how i fixed this:

1. Uninstall Ableton and everything that came with
2. Delete the previously attempted generated keys
3. Install Ableton Live 10 Suite all over again and at the end of the installation MAKE SURE TO UNCHECK THE BOX THAT SAYS RUN THE PROGRAM BEFORE YOU PRESS FINISH
4. After this open this link in your browser >>

in this video the guy explains how to properly block the program from "reaching out" using its connection to the internet.
5. After Ableton Live 10 Suite is blocked from the internet aka "reaching out" open up the program and it should pop up the authorization tab
6. Click "No internet connection on this device" (or however it goes) so you can authorize it offline.
7. Save the displayed text that includes the hardware code to a note by clicking the "save" button the note should open automatically, if not, open it manually through files explorer
8. Run R2R's KeyGen and copy paste the hardware code from the note into the generator and click "Generate"
9. Save the generated license to the Ableton installation folder FYI DO NOT CHANGE THE NAME OF THE LICENSE OR ELSE ABLETON WILL NOT RECOGNIZE IT

Now comes the moment of truth and I hope you have not closed any of the tabs yet. If you did as i said it should work, if it doesnt go back and retrace your steps and see where things went wrong.

10. After you save the license go back to Ableton Live 10 Suite program
11. Open the files explorer and find the license you saved and drag and drop it anywhere onto the Ableton window.

If everything worked the next tab to pop up should say that you have successfully authorized the program

MAKE SURE YOU READ EDIT

EDIT: the next day after opening ableton it asked me to authorize again and eventually i realized that happened because it auto updated over night so if this happens you do not have to repeat the whole process I explained if you have already done it. Simply uninstall and the re-install Ableton Live 10 Suite (make sure you are back on the 10.0.1 version though) then run the program and it should go back to how you left it authorized and all.

Now to prevent this from happening again go into the preferences (top left>options>preferences) and click on the license page and where it says "get automatic updates" make sure the button next to it says "off" and is colored gray. If it is yellow and says "on" click it and it should turn off.

After this you should be good to go.

I've done that on my Pc but it still doesn't work. Can someone please send a keygen for 9.1.1

 

For anyone who's still confused, I've figured it out. There is no way you can authorize Ableton without replacing the .exe . I did everything @Dave McBoof suggested and it still didn't work. Replace the .exe and try to authorize without uninstalling. Guaranteed to work.

 

I can confirm this. No need to reinstall.
Just copy the cracked "Ableton Live 10 Suite.exe" and replace the old one previously cracked.
Don't forget to turn off the automatic updates in Preferences > Licences Maintenance

 

I ve just deleted Ableton application, and the installed it again, and opened it throw Autarisation file. Now it perfectly works! (MAC)

 

I've just uninstalled and cleaned out everything, reinstalled the program and carefully followed all the instructions, making sure to replace the .exe file and be off the internet, yet every time I try and to drag and drop the authorization keygen onto the program, it tells me the authorization is invalid on this computer. I've tried everything at this point and can't get it to work. Helpppp im on PC btw

 

What do you mean by "clean up everything"? Thee majority of time "the everything" people think of, it is not "everything at all" What did you do?

 

Well I deleted everything Ableton related in my registry and all my temp files. I don't think that's where the problem is because the program is running fine and a whole lot of people seem to be having the same issue as me. Some get it resolved by replacing the .exe file from the crack into the program folder, however it's not changing anything for me as I've been doing that and following the instructions.

 

Hi everyone I feel like the reason my authorization file is not Val it is because I’ve already linked my hardware code to Ableton light. hello , i think your problem is just that you have checked the auto update box. that way your livense fails..

 

sorry for necromancing this (although last post is from march). but since assumingly a couple of people are directed from google to find this thread, I figured I'll share how to fix the issue.

1. make sure to follow dave mcboof's instructions above (including blocking ableton from the internet, I also blocked ableton index.exe)
2. MOST IMPORTANTLY you have to make sure your patch.exe is installed in the right folder. it has to go to Ableton\Live 10 Suite\Program
Let your patch extract everything to this directory. Not to Live 10 Suite, otherwise it won't work. Your patch has to go to the same place as the original .exe, together with the dll files, which are in Live 10 Suite\Program

So in total you need a patch and a auth file generator/crack. if you have no patch to fix the .exe, it won't work.

Look, I would've bought it and I appreciate the 90 free days atm, but I'm a student and I need this for a project. thanks to corona I cannot access any of my real life instruments so I look for ableton to find another way to do sounddesign for school. sorry ableton team. will buy when I graduate and make money.

 

tries to delete previous registry keys from System registry
windows key+R to get run box and type there 'Regedit' go to folder 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER' and delete folder 'ableton' do this in 'HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE' as well, i think will be in the folder SOFWARE then Uninstall Ableton and Install again and try run the keygen.
