I suggest you stop using keygens then if my reply does not make sense. Using one pc for "everything" makes no sense tbh.

If you want performance, do as ableton suggests on their website, disable antivirus (who needs AV anyway) disable firewall, and disable wifi/ethernet.

Why disable when you can just add it to processes in Defender? And maybe you can buy another pc to me since me having just one pc don't make sense. Like I said I (and many others) are online all the time so again your advice make no sense. It''s like saying I can use my car but not on the road. I do backups of my system both clones and images all the time so you don't have be concerned about my internet use. I think of my pc as an media-station that I can use for "everything". Not saying a dedicated music production pc is wrong, just saying putting everybody in that category make no sense.

there are also people like me, who would love a dedicated audio computer, but there is no way i could afford one, so i am forced to use one PC for all the jobs.
as long as you look after it it will be fine

You're the guy who thinks you need to use antiviruses AKA spyware. AVs are only needed in LAN environment on work or public PCs when some moron co-worker install virus.exe on his PC and infects everyone else, not on home machines where you control what gets downloaded onto your PC. If you can't figure out how to scan a fucking file before installing it or how to test it in a virtual machine or you are foolish enough to download from untrusted sources then it is entirely your fault. The only one messing up your home machine is you.

I don't have any AV enabled on 4 PCs, I don't update Windows, life is good. My Ableton doesn't take 20 seconds to open either.

Yeah bro, MS Defender's gonna put Kasperski and Norton out of biz...:hahaha:
Jokes aside, like the guys said, if you wanna surf dangerously hehe, best solution with little money is, get a cheapo second comp for browsing/dl etc. (150-300$) and unplug your music comp from the net completely.
    Cheers :)

Spare me the anti-virus spyware argument. You sound like a Linux fanboy, and I hate Linux fanboys with a passion. How do you know my needs? I watch porn, I download all kinds of things, I install all kinds of things, I test out updates and so on. Again I do regular clones and images so stop being concerned about my internet usage. I mess up my system "all" the time especially when I try to change and delete register files, and do major updates in Windows. But again no problem I just get my clone out of my fire proof safe and bam! I'm back in business.
I even made a video when I messed up one time getting the Neshta virus. I downloaded a pirate copy of Photoshop from Demonoid from a trusted user called Fozzy or something like that. Defender warned me but I was stupid and thought it was a false positve:

Not the best solution for me I play demanding games online like Fifa 20. How will a cheap pc gain me then? LIke I have said I take regular clones and images of my whole system so I don't see the danger being online all the time.

I have said it before, but I say it again; all you need to be "safe" online is Defender firewall/antivirus and do a weekly scan with Malewarebytes. Of course if you're a complete idiot online (toolbars and free scanners) and never do backups nothing can help you.

There is a bit of contradiction in what you are trying to accomplish, prevent , and how you go about it. First, if you do regular system clones, why bother with antivirus? If things go bad, you are covered. Moreover, if you are running an antivirus program and then, when you get a warning you think that it is a false- positive, why bother with antivirus? You either have to trust the AV 100% or not use it at all. I personally, do NOT use any AV. In fact, never have relied on AV even with the system that I use to get on line. All I do is run weekly scans with portable or online AV. With that said, the decision as to whether to use AV or not is an individual one. One that you have to make based on what you think will be better, and make you feel safer, regardless of what we tell you.

Cause cloning take time. Not something I would do unnecessary. Also even if I am 100% covered with insurance does not mean I want my car to burn up.
Like I said it was a mistake. That being said I have many keygens on exclusion. So no I don't have to trust it 100%, I just have to know when it's a false positive.

And how do I "know" it's a false positive:

You have to "google" and read up on if it's a false positive
    or
You download from a trusted site so you "know" it's a false positive
    or
You just take a chance that it is a false positive.

Either way if you screw up then the clone or image comes in handy.
Also if you have those allowed threats that I have added in Defender you are pretty much covered. Then once in a while a new false positive comes along.....
Let's hope that not any of those allowed threats really is a trojan or something nasty

yepp some people cannot differ between a media center pc and a dedicated music production pc. Always been my goal to use my pc for "everything". I have wet dreams about this media center pc:

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960x (overclocked to around 4.3GHz on all cores)
Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro TR4 cpu cooler
    Gigabyte TRX40 AORUS XTREME motherboard
    GIGABYTE GC-TITAN RIDGE Add-in Card, Thunderbolt 3
    Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 DDR4 3600MHz 64GB
MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio
Fractal Design Define R6 USB-C without TG, pc case
    Corsair RM850x power supply
Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD (not yet released, 6500 MB/s reads, 5000 MB/s write)
