In my world, Famous do not make accounts.
The account is made either for the exploition of the famamity, rather then the account.

This is what I mean. Years ago social accounts was made because it was needed. For example to put info for fans.
Now people make social accounts to have fans.

Where made you mean. The problem now with "Socializing" is the abscense of direct contact with the person ie Mobile phones.

In the past, public figures had great websites, while yours (if you had one) was truly miserable. This also happened with Myspace, where the aesthetics of your page could be modified for a fee and in any case having graphic engineering skills. The key to the success of Facebook and also of other modern social platforms is that your Mr. Nobody account is exactly the same as that of the US President, the Pope, or your favorite worldwide known band. Having the same account for everyone gave a big boost to emerging artists, since they could appear publicly exactly like their idols. In my opinion, this was the reason for the boom of socials, whether this led to progress or not is an open discussion and I don't have this answer

I always thought a platform where you just show one picture of yourself full face called "my face" would be useful.

Yeah, I agree. Too many "nobodies" starting social accounts and then they amount to nothing anyway.

It's a good question/reflection and consideration. I believe that, as in all things, we have the positive side and the negative side, well, starting from 'positive' for whom, and 'negative' for whom? It's subjective. So, in my opinion, the closest thing to having a DAW when I was little, very little, was a double cassette player, where I would transfer recordings from one cassette to another, and a bunch of things would play. But it was the closest thing to creating something 'multitrack' at home, or going to a recording studio. I think creating in those times was more inspiring or, better said, more encouraging because, where do the desires to create come from? This is my philosophical thought, and it is the lack of elements. If you want to open a bottle of wine and don't have a corkscrew, you'll invent one because you'll use your creativity to do it. So, I believe that years ago, due to the lack of elements, one was more creative, and it encouraged you to do things that would stand out.

But now I see that making music is as easy as pressing a button, and as mentioned before, the audience won't notice whether you've spent hours creating or just pressed a button; they only hear the result. But from the positive side, you have DAWs, VSTs that make your work easier, you can create almost anything you want, you can even have your own choir with voice cloning, female and male choirs, or create an atmosphere with many choirs with different voices.

Regarding social networks, perhaps from my perspective, MySpace was more focused on highlighting what you did, your music. Today, I think Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube have a stronger presence, but I don't believe they have the same impact. Another detail as a music consumer is that, in the past, having information about a famous person was a rarity. For example, if a celebrity was on TV, you were there watching with excitement, or if they released a book about a band, now you're scrolling on your phone and thinking... hmm, another reel from this band... okay... let's see what else is there? It has become very common, losing that 'magic.' Well, it's a very deep topic. I don't know if I deviated from the thread because I saw you asked about before vs. now, but you also referred to social networks. I hope I haven't gone off track, but let me know if I did.

"We're surrounded by children who since they were born have watched us living like robots and think it's the norm."

So true yet so depressing. A large part of the development of a child's personality is observing their parents and imitating their behavior. If what they observe is their parents looking at a screen all day, think about what that teaches them. They will become even more antisocial than the generation before them. People right now are raising a generation psychpaths/sociopaths and don't even realize it. If I had any kids, I would raise them in an environment with as few screens as possible.

I hate how everyone these days is staring at these stupid things at every given moment, basically saying "I don't care about the world around me and by all means, don't talk to me."
I'm one of the few people who rarely pull out their smartphone in public. I'm almost embarrassed if I have to do it. I really don't want to be like those people. I only use it for phone calls or texting about something important. If I want to look up something on the internet, watch a video or play a game, I'll wait for that until I can use my PC because that can do everything a phone can, but better.
