No point trying to persuade anyone in this forum to change their minds. You can already tell based on the replies which individuals have more compassion and kindness and which do not. Rather than let that bother you, it's probably better to be the best person you can be, morally, ethically and follow what you feel is right, just, and compassionate. People nowadays don't have principles. Most are downright selfish, greedy, self-centered, egotistical and morally corrupt with a sense of entitlement but like to masquerade as "good" hardworking people even though they lie cheat and steal. No one will take the time to listen or understand or see things from more than one perspective outside of their own. And of course, it is no surprise people in society will look down on those who are poor, under privileged, handicapped, etc. so don't expect sympathy from those around. Many will draw instant conclusions and rush to judgement before seeing all the facts (you will be judged on your current situation and not the entirety of your circumstance). Also, the definition of "truth" and "facts" has become highly subjective and no longer cut and dry. It all depends on what they consider or believe to be factually true regardless of actual fact. I am glad that you are one who still shares a great deal of compassion with a strong moral compass and some feelings of sympathy for the under privileged. Don't worry about what other people do. You can only control what you do so be the best version of yourself and give and help where you can but don't be disheartened or discouraged when you don't receive thanks or appreciation. Ignore those who live up high and look down on others who are less fortunate. Who knows? Maybe one day they will end up on the receiving end and in need of help. What goes around comes around. It may not be immediate, but it always happens...
