What do you think of this that happened in my country? how do you see it with your eyes?

A homeless man lives on the street and asked for coins to eat, next to him he had a puppy that he found abandoned, which he cared for and fed.
A girl saw the dog on the street, and offered to buy it for him.
But the man told him no, that he wasn't even selling it for a car.
Then the girl took it from her and took it home.
And on social networks he said that he had done a good thing in taking the dog out of a homeless man because he was going to have a better life with her.
Then the homeless man went to ask the press for help to get his pet back. And I read the comments in the press and most people say that it is better that the dog is with the girl than with the homeless.

It is true that no one deserves to be on the street, neither the dog nor the homeless person. But why take it off?
The truth gave me a lot of impotence and sadness.
But what caught my attention the most was the people commenting that the girl did well to take it off for the simple fact of being on the street. So I told myself. maybe I'm wrong. I don't know what you think

The answer is obvious: the girl is a narcissist, going straight to social media in order to virtue signal what a 'good person' she thinks she is.

If anyone took my dog from me, I would slap the living sh*t out of them. How dare she? The dog may have been the poor old fella's only companion.

I imagine the problem would ultimately be medical care for the dog which he would be unable to provide. And the worry that he might not be able to keep it properly fed. But I suspect the girl *is* probably a crappy person though. What would be nicer would be to let the guy keep the dog and check in on him. But without knowing details about the man, his health and overall situation- can't make a call.

A sign of what is happening in the world, as people start to devolve they get worse and worse. Why didn't this person bring the homeless man home and give him a meal? Rather the dog is more important than a human being, selfish self obsessed is the new fad.
The animal obsession that is happening over the globe is a sign of peoples mental health and the deterioration of it. In the land of crazies the sane person is the outcast. You didn't mention what country you are in, although it may as well be any western land and beyond.

Sorry but there are too many factors to consider and not enough infos to really build an opinion here.
Could be the girl the girl was selfish. Could be the girl wanted to do the right thing but did wrong. But also could perfectly be, that the girl was doing the right thing here.
Just because you think you are doing whats best for an animal doesnt mean you actually do it. But that goes for the man and the girl.
There are several things to consider.
Was the dog in need of medical care? Was the dog fed good or was he starving. Did he appear to be neglected or mentally unfit? A dog doesnt care if he lives on the street but if his owner cant take proper care to a point where it becomes a problem (also for humans if a dog is agressive for example) then thats a different story. And thats to be evaluated on a case to case base..
so any bashing of the girl or the previous owner is just baseless wild guessing or based on prejudices and doesnt mean anything in this case.

It is what I think, and what causes me a lot of sadness. Perhaps for the man it was his only affection and his best friend. Being on the street is very ugly.
I also see that commonly with these social media fads. As long as you have something viral. does anything

It's just that the girl took it out of him without finding out anything. First he wanted to buy it, he told him "I'm not selling it for a car." Seeing this, I take it out. He didn't do an analysis or look at the details any further.
Shortly after she came out on social media alluding to what she had done (rescue the dog). The man went out to ask for it to be returned and said that he never lacked food and that a neighbor helped him with vaccinations and others.

I am from Argentina. And yes, that happens here. The dog, cat (mainly pets) are above the life of a human being. If you read the comments, few people say "hey, why not help the bum". People in general say that he does not deserve it, because he is there because he wants a difference from the dog that is there, but he could be better off somewhere else with a family that gives him a better quality of life.
I also feel that it became more fashionable than how good it really is. Near my house, I see houses of people with a lot of money, and one in particular has a cage with straws in its window, and I wonder. for the protectionists it would not be bad to have birds in a cage. But it seems that whoever has the money can do it, but a homeless person cannot have a dog.

That is exactly what it is. The girl took it out without doing any analysis of the situation. She wanted to buy it, Mr. did not sell it to her, and she took it from him. And people applaud this because now the dog will have a better life.

"Ever see this? It’s a homeless guy but he’s got a dog... The dog’s really thrilled with this idea. The dog’s going, "Hey pal, I can do this by myself pretty well. The longest walk in the world you got me on here."

Why not simply help both, the dog and the man, giving them a roof and food?

    Totally agree Oly
Do you know what the girl did after taking the dog out?
She opened a bank account to ask for help with money for the dog she had stolen from the homeless man.
Because he did not open an account and ask for both as you say.
But here homeless man is trash, he is a nuisance to society.
I feel sad and angry at the same time.

Based on your story - The person who would deserve the greatest praise is the one who took the homeless man and his dog off the streets but that did not happen.

I see your points which are several, being that what places a dog above a human being; who steals a companion dog from a homeless person? and everyone has the right to a decent life and no less or more than anyone else. The person taking the dog may have believed they were doing what was best for the dog, yet if their compassion went there, they would have also tried to do something, or at least suggest something for the homeless person other than offer them cash.

All the above being said - The amount of people who feel they cannot do anything to help the homeless is substantial. It is almost ingrained to believe that it is a government welfare problem, not theirs so your country is not dissimilar to many others.

By doing "what was best for the dog" she destroyed a loving family unit and had no right to put herself and her misguided morality above the truth of that. She doesn't get off the hook that easily. She did it for purely selfish goals as made clear of her posting on social media and herself begging for money for care of her ill begotten new pet as she did not even have the means of caring for it herself. She inflicted suffering by virtually ripping out the heart of that poor fellow as well as the dog who loved him back as only a dog can do.

I agree but it raises another flaw in some human mentality as well. That flaw being that in the first instance, she automatically placed herself above that of the homeless person. Nobody can walk in another person's shoes and she had no idea where he'd been or what caused him to be where he was at that point in time. Oh, I am not letting her off the hook, I am attempting to see the possibility that regardless of her eventually using the dog as a vehicle for money gathering, she might have initially had an ounce of compassion if only for the dog.

That´s never gonna happen in western societies. We´re to deep down the hole "liberty and the ilusion of choice" that the gereneral consensus is that if some human being lives on the streets is because his or her decisions brought him/her there.

Even with all the recent studies and experiments with the universal basic income, that proof without a doubt that if you cover the basic needs of human beings for free and incoditionaly they will become a profuctive and helpful part of their communities It´ll not happen. Our generation it´s too rooted on those corrupted and wrong principles. Maybe our sons will see that.

are you aware that most beggers, expecially gipsies use puppies to beg? and strangely they are always puppis, never grown up dogs.I m not saying this is the case, i know many homeless with dogs, but it s hard to believe that when these things happen, the puppy was found just a few days before, i don t recall them growing on trees

So true @Olymoon but in this world we live in many people don't care for their own Parents a homeless man is for them like "Trash". But stuff like getting homeless can happen quickly to anyone as i had a good friend which was in a bad situation and here in my Country its more like that if you not homeless the government will help you but if you are already homeless you got like a Stamp on you. I'm taking care for my Mum as she is ill and many people honor that when they know but for me this is normal and i don't unterstand how you can give your parents away.

I am 99% positive this incident happened 2 years ago... in France. The girl was some animal rights activist whose rationality was discarded as emotion took over...
