    Ok. I know a copycat when I see one. :D It's well done though. That means Fster is THAT predictable.
    Oh, now I'm drifting off topic so I guess these posts will get deleted. I better stop.

  3. New amazing and great music. At 5:35 all shit breaks loose. I muster that Thome Yorke borrows a cup now and again from the composer when he is all out of sweet muse, Jesse Montgomery. This is some awesome shit.

    Perhaps the problem is: music is no longer played, it's made.

    :wink::disco::mates::woot::guru: This shit is DOPE!

    I propose that there is a difference between music that is great and music that has achieved greatness. Only time will tell how much of todays music will earn the title of "Great Music"

    After trying not to laugh at some things...

    There is proof of life that some good music (posts depending on variable opinions) still exists.

    can someone please put the worms back in the can?
    :)

    If you want a nice music when you press on play you have to program it.Knobs don't turn by their's own,sounds are not already made(at leat not for me),the notes have to be written.
    It is a different music for me.In electronic music,sound's textures are infinite,that's what I like.

    I disagree,like you said "great music" is subjective.If you don't practise it,you won't hear it with the same hear.
    In art there is a form of snobbery too.

    I prefer to believe that everything and everyone is interesting to someone, just not all things. But I agree finding people that we like and want in our lives is not too dissimilar to finding music we want to hear all of the time.

    It's been scientifically proven that the lyrical/melodic/harmonic complexity of music has declined.

    You fail to comprehend my point. Bob Dylan or John Coltrane may not be my or your favorites, but they are considered "greats". But years had to pass until that title was bestowed upon them. It is not a matter of subjectivity. It is not a matter of "I love this song, it is great". It's not snobbery to acknowledge greatness. Is it only snobs who would agree Charles Dickens is a great author?

    I did not find any music posted in this thread very interesting, and I wonder if it is just my age and being stuck on certain types of music...
    But that isn't really true, because my list of music i like is ever-growing.
    Often i find a song i really like and tink "Wow, people should know about this"...
    ..and find they already did, five years ago...
    I just don't listen to the radio much, and in the past was the main way i discovered music.
    These days it's via the internet, one way or another...from a video of some kind, or occasionally a movie soundtrack.
    On any particular day I guess i might say"There's no great music anymore"
    Until tomorrow...

    Well...So what is "great"?...Complex?...Captivating?...Approchable?...Etc..Etc..
    I see here some subjectivity.
    I don't see any snobbery always,but sometimes.

    Dictionaries are not subjective. They have no bias.
    If you cannot distinguish quality from the mundane even in an abstract sense, then there is no point in trying to achieve anything of substance in any art form.
    Here then is a description of what constitutes greatness.

    greatness
    noun
    1. the quality of being great; eminence or distinction.
      "Elgar's greatness as a composer"
      synonyms: eminence, distinction, pre-eminence, illustriousness, lustre, repute, reputation, status, standing, high standing;
      importance, significance, value, merit, worth;
      celebrity, noteworthiness, fame, prominence, renown
      "a woman destined for greatness"
      brilliance, genius, prowess, talent, expertise, expertness, mastery, artistry, virtuosity, flair, skill, skilfulness, finesse, panache, power, adeptness, proficiency;
      calibre, distinction
      "Wilde's greatness as a writer"
      grandeur, grandness, magnificence, impressiveness, splendour, gloriousness, glory, majesty, loftiness
      "a city fallen from greatness"
