I have made a selection of bands that i think are some of the best bands in the world,especially live.
But there can be only one,the best audiosex live band
You can vote twice,for two bands.
I have included only bands,solo artists not included.
Also,i could not add more bands due to the limited number of possible responses.

 

My vote goes to Queen and Billy Idol band.

I wish you included Yes, my favorite, but I went with Purple and Floyd, another two of my fav's.

 

Had to make some compromises as you are limited with the number of voting options.

 

Rammstein, Bon Jovi, Genesis ? Bands that wud sound better dead, honestly.

 

None of the above. One of my current favourites.

 

Man this is to hard with only two votes available. Voted for queen and ac/dc for pure amount of energy they provide, but my hearth will always be with Eagles. In my opinion one of the best live sounding band.

 

You've got to be kidding me, there are no bands that can beat the energy a good rhyhtm 'n' blues or soul & funk band delivers. 10-15 people going completely nutso onstage while staying in perfect sync. Incredible.

 

Simple Minds isn't even up there? Those guys sound way better live than they are in the studio.
Anyway, I picked U2 & Guns n Roses. I love Bono & the Edge, they inspired me a lot as a musician. The edge & slash inspired me as a guitarist. I'll never be as good as them, though

 

Hmm,you are probably right,the poll is indeed more rock oriented.But it gets an honorable spot as one of the best live bands without a doubt.

 

If @SAiNT opens up some slots i will add additional bands,the poll needs some cool black bands as well.

Radiohead would be my second choice, Tool is my first because of the light show. Muse also put out an incredible live dvd in spain...hard to decide but the list is full of influencial bands way past their prime

 

I only bring it up because their live performances expand on their catalog with some really restructured compositions and still sound spectacular.

has a kick-ass bass line (at 1:16) that is nowhere to be found on the actual album.

is just beautifully raw.

 

Had Tool and Muse on my list but i replaced them with Genesis and Eagles....i guess because of the mileage/seniority of these bands.

 

If you can see the beatles live, you're either A - Dead, B - On LSD or C - On so much drugs that you're hallucinating that you died from a fire-breathing dragon's taco bell fart & you're watching the Beatles perform at the gates of heaven (or hell).

 

Bruce Springsteen - plays for hours and engages every member of the audience, and is officially recognised as the greatest live act ever .. he's The Boss!

And if there was a 2nd best live band ... these are it, they've got an amazing set-list to call upon which just sounds great when played live. A real musicians band

I would title this "Best Rock Band" then start one for all the popular music types. Maybe to turn others on to great music, you could start the post with name your top three (type of music) or (undiscovered) musical groups or artists. Just an idea. Great post!

 

I guess you are right.Though the greatest lives bands happen to be mostly from the rock scene.
If mods open up more slots i could add more bands from other genres and make it more diverse.
