Install Help
1.) Unrar / Unzip
2.) Load the V-Station and import the *.FXB Soundbank: The Transmitter Soundbank by Abc for the V-Station VST2
3.) The V-Station comes supplied with 400 program memory locations of which the first 200 are occupied with factory presets.
Scroll to "300 Abc - Arp - Basic Sound" - Then Press the Arrow Up!

Open the V-Station --> Global --> Import or Export --> Load or import a MIDI file. If it not works use an older V-Station Version.

I wish I could get FXB load to work. I have a shit ton of FXB for V-Station I can't hear. Older version you say...? Which one sir. Thanks for your time. I appreciate it.

 

I think I may have an idea. Switching from VST3 to VST2 ....

feeling dumb. Says VST2 right in the filename. Am dumb.

I got it to load in the VST2 version. Sorry. This steps up my V-Station game sevenfoldfive

 

WHat should I use for my final format? VST3 vstpreset? MID? Will MID hold the descriptions? That would be a universal format and good in my opinion.

 

MID is not a good format. They do not hold the sound descriptions. DAYUM. FXP anf FXB seems preferred I guess at least for VST2. Moron tirade will continue till definitive solution found.

 

I guess the VST2 and the VST3 can both use '.preset' format. Both will export them, both will load them. Not true for the '.vstpreset' format, exclusive to VST3. What a mind f---. I am going to check to see if '.preset' retains the sound name descriptions. WTH is 'preset' and 'instrument' formats? Studio One thing? Godam. EDIT: yup they are proprietary Studio One formats. '.vstpreset' is exclusive to VST3. geezes

No. I can't load a .preset saved with one into the other. Nothing happens. I don't think there is a way to get fxp/fxb sounds into VST3 V-Station with the names intact! At all. That actually is a mind f---.

 

SYX and MID are very old school dinosaur stuff. The can't retain sound desrciption info.

FXB, FXP, and VSTPRESET are Steinberg file formats. They retain sound description info.

INSTRUMENT and PRESET are Presonus (only) file formats. They retain sound description info.

If I have anything wrong here someone say something and thank you in advance.

Please install an older version of the V-Station, with which you can then play all presets and soundbank.

I saw your Video. Please use in Studio One the "Import Preset"

 

I'm all set my man. Project is done. I ended up using the VST2 V-Station and the VST3 both. I use the VST2 version to load the FXB's. A tleast on my system, the VST3 will NOT load FXBs. Got any sounds? I got quite a few.

 

Congrats @John Thompson on the completion.

The first V-Station is from 2003. the last update is from 2018. like you, I was surprised that you can't load older soundbanks. I think the V-Station is just too old, you would have to reprogram it which costs time and money. At some point it was therefore also available for free.
