The circle of fifths is very important .
It allows you to instantly know the 12 keys and what notes are in them to create which chords and which cadences and then chord progressions.
Also by memorizing the chromatic scale in fifths
    FCGDAEBF#C#G#D#A#

You know instantly the cadence for every single chord.( First expansion of a chord before learning about chord progressions)
If we look at the C you have C major Cadence and A minor Cadence to the left is Fmaj the link
    1.cegb
    2.dfac
    3.egbd
    4.face
    5.gbdf
    6.aceg
    7.bdfa

Here are chords in C major but here is what those chords mean.
    Dmin7 G7 C6
    Bmin7b5 E7 Amin6
    Over Fmaj7

There is all 7 chords and how they work.
    Next

    From the minor perspective
    Bmin7b5 E7 Amin6
    Dmin7 G7 C6
    Over Dmin7

A cadence is subdominant to dominant to tonic
    Harmonic motion.

You can also travel circle of fifths in dominant chords
    B7 E7 A7 D7 G7 C7 F7 Bb7 Eb7 Ab7 Db7 Gb7

This is V7 to I ( in other words dominant to tonic )
The circle of fifths also shows us the modes light to dark
    FCGDAEB
    Lydian bright
    Ionian normal
    Mixolydian darker
    Dorian darker
    Aeolian darker
    Phrygian darker still
    Locrian darkest
    Lydian bright again

Each in of these modes is one note flattened
    C...D...E...F#..G...A...B...C.....Lydian
    C...D...E...F....G....A...B ..C.....Ionian
    C...D...E...F....G....A...Bb.C....Mixolydian
    C...D...Eb..F...G....A...Bb.C....Dorian
    C...D...Eb..F...G ..Ab..Bb.C....Aeolian
    C..Db..Eb..F...G..Ab .Bb.C...Phrigian
    C..Db..Eb..F..Gb..Ab.Bb.C..Locrian
    B..Db..Eb..F..Gb..Ab Bb.C..Lydian again

    See bright to dark

If music is sound in your view well if I say dog or write dog down we both know what it means. We put everything into words in fact it's the only think to do with words! Describe things!
How can using words in the only way they could ever be used To describe things like fucking for virginity?
People come up with crazy things when trying to justify to themselves the reason why they haven't learned the way something's works yet.( Something in this case is what you love music)
It's like saying I LOVE my girlfriend .so so much
    And by love I mean
1.i do not accept her for who she actually is
2.dont care to learn anything about her.
3.not interested in how she works
4.only want to use her for what I can get out of her.
That is an insane way to use the word love.
Is this the way you love anything?
I love X so much that I refuse to understand how it works

I love carpentry so much I refuse to use tape measures
I love guitar so much I refuse to learn the notes on every fret.
I love math so much I refuse to learn equations.
It's basically using the word love to describe hate.
    Bizzarre

To any music theory deniers out there who claim they can make just as good music as someone who has that knowledge.

    Let's have a challenge .
A third party can select a song any song
And we both have to make the best version of it we can . Put our money where our mouth is. Let's figure out whatever restrictions limitations for it and do this thing. Put up or shut up.
I'm willing to be restricted in anyway we want to decide
    A scientific experiment .
Is it true or false that knowledge of music theory has any impact in the quality of music ?
What time restraints should we have ?
    How many participants ?

Pretty good music I like it, not exactly a foundation for transformation or a form for another to express individuality .

The music theory deniers ( reminds me of flat earthers haha)

I'm just having a difficult time imagining what you consider music of the highest quality that is entirely made with no knowledge of music theory yet you consider the best music you know of.
I am only myself aware of okay and mediocore music made from ignorance .
The kind of music that is good but good on the same way a million other songs are . When I say music of the highest level I mean it's so good there not very much music as good as it , it sits above the rest. So if you can please share with me music you consider of the highest level which was made ignorant of the way music works rationally they cannot describe what it is they are playing .

    Here is my selection

The song is from 22mins to 35 mins
    ( Yes a long one)
It is in my top 10 greatest peices of music of all time
Please listen to the entire thing.

The best music always uses the twelve-tone technique. It doesn't matter how much theory you put in. As long as you don't ensure that all 12 notes are sounded as often as one another, it just won't sound good, right?

The difference between genres and styles is just timbre ( the way things sound )
But music theory is the same for every genre
    If I play a melody that is the notes of E7 EG#BD resolving to Amin6 A C E F#

And the only thing I change is the sound from Trumpet to piano to synth to guitar to strings to violin to bassoon to the voice
Nothing musically has changed only timbre.
The emotional impact stays the same each time .
The music portion is identical the only changes were in the timbre of the sound .
This is way genres and styles are irrelevant those are ways for people to search for how to purchase or find music it has zero to do with music theory.
The way music works is always the same
Being ignorant is no different whether your ignorant with one sound or 50 others .
Having musical knowledge makes you better whether one sound or 50 others.
Music theory is the way music works . That does not change no.matter what genre will ever be invented.
The music portion of a song is the same no matter what genre .

You distinctly stated that a third party would make the selection. How can you not see how biased this so called experiment is if you pick the song? Anyway, all of this is moot since any resulting interpretation of any song is purely subjective to the listener? How can you quantify a song that is 86.3% "good" compared to another version that is 85.9% "good"? Your initial challenge shows how removed you are from the purpose of music by filtering every component of composition into numbers, symbols and charts. There is no equation for emotion in a performance or composition.

So, now, notsoloud dares to challenge the merit of using numbers, even when the evidence is clear...

Beware, you may pay a heavy price for your skepticism...

If music was boxing, I'd throw in the towel about now. I'm punch drunk from this topic. Kudos for including me in your succinct satirical cartooning. You have a bright future ahead of you. Possibly one behind you as well.

He doesn't need music theory in his life because drummers are not musicians.:winker:

(I saw him do a drumming workshop at Brooklyn College in maybe 1980 to a very small crowd (maybe 40 people at most) and was blown away about his power, finesse, and about his perfect timing. :woot:

You're showing your age Lois. Never got to see him. Damn! I did see Jaco Pastorius up close. Amazing. No. Not in a morgue. He was alive.
