when i rub my finger on my synth, usb soundcard or laptop chasis, i feel the surface vibrating as if electricity runs through it. this happens on 2 places and its because of bad building earthing, im told. it happened also in places where it didnt use to so i really havent figured out what the hell goes on yet. but its bad.

 

This is a matter for an electrician, they're probably bailing on the homeowner or your landlord. Try to assert your rights.

Measuring earth resistance

Measurements can be helpful for both new and old buildings. In new buildings, the earth resistance of the surrounding material is measured using electrodes. Based on this information, the earthing network can be optimally planned, for example. The quality of an existing building earthing can also be determined in order to clarify whether the existing earthing complies with safety regulations.

Preventing magnetic and electrical fields

In addition to safety, earthing has another property that is becoming increasingly important: to prevent disruptive magnetic or electrical fields, a perfectly functioning house earthing is essential. In old buildings in particular, poor house earthing is often one of the causes of such undesirable phenomena, especially if the power lines are two-pole and do not yet have an actual earth conductor as a third pole.
