Double the polyphony, double the sound memory and double the effects - the second generation KORG volca fm is here.

The second-generation volca fm is a full-featured FM synthesizer in a compact, portable format that makes no compromises in terms of sound and functionality. In contrast to its predecessor, the polyphony has been doubled to 6 voices, and in addition to its well-known chorus effect, there is now also a comfortably soft reverb effect, whereby both effects can be used at the same time and can be controlled separately.

The volca fm now offers space for 64 different sound programs as well as a random function that can be used to create completely new sounds at the push of a button. As the first representative of the volca series, the volca fm of the second generation has a MIDI OUT connection in addition to the MIDI IN, which means that its 16-step sequencer can now also be used to control external sound generators. Another new feature is that the compact synthesizer - controlled via an external MIDI keyboard - can also be played dynamically and thus expressively, provided the connected keyboard supports dynamic dynamics.

The "Warp Active Step" sequencer mode provides interesting rhythmic shifts, while the pattern chaining function allows sequences with a length of up to 256 steps. The classic structure of the synthesizer with its 6 operators and 32 algorithms has remained. The compatibility with what is probably the most legendary FM synthesizer ever goes so far that its original sound programs can be transferred to the volca fm. In addition, the volca fm comes with a KORG software bundle.
