thats why i make my own playlists and run my own streaming audio server for the house. Its always music I like and no commercials, and its just a click on the remote or the webrowser to bring up another playlist..also great for streaming audio books and radio plays (thank you bbc4)

In addition to having fun exposing the conceptual weaknesses (he is just an influenced perpetrator of what would be called tunnel vision) and the cowardice of our twat Foster (who must die of shame for exposing his idols!), I think it is almost a duty to direct these jets of verbal diarrhea (his piles of nonsense) to their rightful place: the toilet of history! Let me explain: when free from rules spirits arrive at the academy (and I saw this happen to several of my colleagues), twats like Foster love to make fun of knowledge acquired in practice, coming from popular music, from multimedia, etc. (which they insist on defining as low-brow), to the detriment of high-brow knowledge (academic, which becomes like a cult, only for the initiated) from which these figures seek to establish guarantees and symbolic capital (within the academic system).

The problem is when these creatures come out of their holes to catechize and judge others in search of symbolic capital (to prove that they has more cultural value than them really does) and find supporters and sympathizers of a type of music located at the periphery of human appreciation, perpetrated by arrogant and prejudiced figures like our twat Foster. So, this category of person needs to embrace this cultural relativism (all music is equally valid - including the modality, the more bizarre, the better!) to get a job at a university or music conservatory so as not to die starving.

Again, in the real world, these twats would die of hunger, if they needed to live off music intended for real people (just like a postmodern/experimental chef would presumably create bold new original dishes incorporating ingredients such as coal dust, styrofoam, and plutonium: no human being would consume inhuman food as not many humans appreciate music accessible only to a minority within the minority, in this case, new music aficionado F[tr]O[ll]STER).

I am a huge fan of John Williams and one of his and Quincy Jones' earliest teachers, Russell Garcia.
It's interesting that in Russell Garcia's "The Professional Arranger Composer Book II", he shows he has complete understanding of notes and how they work not only in music, but in life. Here's but one small excerpt that demonstrates how off-beam FOSTER is. It is quite an exceptional composer's companion who/that might wish to relay moods and feelings using "notes" and harmony.
