    This is sad, certainly.

But not as sad as the story I told.

The number of people who are active in the field of music now is thousands of times more than in the past. So naturally, according to logic, we should have thousands and thousands of Mozarts by now. But unfortunately we have no one.

This means that current music education methods for turning people into great composers have failed catastrophically.

Many people have tried to imitate the methods used by great composers in the past, but history proves that these people have not succeeded either.

In the past centuries, the education given to children about music was different from now. Today's children and even adults do not have a correct understanding of notes, and no educational system in the world is capable of teaching how to work with notes correctly. Because if it was successful, we would not see now that the music project has completely failed.

There's no me anymore. All of us are the world. We have all lost out in the music world.

Look, music is as much art as it is science, and the thing about art is its more-so characterized by its ability to evoke and reify emotions. it certainly sucks that there isnt anyone developing the style mozart and bach and whoever worked on, but to act like this is superior to any other kind of music is to spit in the face of the art form itself. Music theory is fascinating, yes, but its a bunch of rules that a bunch of mostly dead people made up, and ultimately arent hard coded into music or talent or meaning. You are allowed to like or dislike whatever you want of course, but making things is about doing what you will and sharing it with others. why does there have to be a divide just because one guy is dead and made long songs and had names for musical concepts, while the other works on a laptop and is more concerned with making pretty ambient synth patches? theres a space for everything, its all beautiful.

Do you know that people's brains make wrong choices most of the time? Mistakes one after the other... these mistakes add up and shape his life, thoughts and behaviors. The world we live in now is full of mistakes and corruption created by our own wrong thoughts and other uninformed people. And we have unfortunately lost a lot of time to get back on the right track. it is too late.

There's this thing we drummers and percussionists do on drums and percussion instruments (yes even electronic ones) called a
"ROLL" which actually makes a lot of sense since it sounds the instrument over time - and can be sustained as long as any melodic instrument...

BTW, I cam constantly switching to score mode in the DAW - especially when writing complex solo tracks as it helps greatly in planning and executing technically difficult melodic and rhythmic patterns that are out of my wheel house keyboard wise.

Your highest highness, I'm already tired of asking and I think I'm going to regret, but here it goes (for the twentieth time — I don't even know for sure anymore): cite a damn practical example and closer to what you would call "correct knowledge about how to work with notes". Can you give a practical example and step out of your usual subjectivity? Or does the stupidity in all areas of music production (don't forget the idiots at the music academy!) not allow you to list any blessed composer who is immune to what you classify as musical stupidity pandemic? Or are we here, again, wasting time with another one of your grumbling sessions due to your inability to accept the reality of current times?

More pragmatism and less subjectivity F(tr)O(ll)STER!

So go listen to classical music and quit basing your wack opinion on shite mass media pop music. Problem solved. There's still plenty of "proper" orchestral music being written, you need to actually go look for it, it aint on the TV or radio and NEVER has been.

As the owner of the site I respect your opinion, even though I disagree with it. Notation is a road map not a destination.
Since well before Bach it has been around and even in cavemen days they wrote ideas with ochre on rocks in caves...while it might be ancient in its inception and continued usage, it is certainly not obsolete. Some musicians can capture their brainwaves straight into a DAW and some straight onto paper. Some like me and many others I know, can do both. Instantly, no, if this is your point and it's a good one if so, but definitely within a short period of time. In many ways it was a logging system and for many of us, it still is, to keep track of the tunes we write as well as those we have not finished. Writing a melody is easy, writing a complete piece, not so much. It's a Universal system that is understood by competent musicians everywhere.

For the brainwave music theory to be valid, it would need to be a universal replacement. Additionally, because it is more of a destination rather than a map, it would need to do both functions.

@Xupito - I think that now after well over 5 years, sooner or later Oly, NoAvenger and the other silent moderators will eventually do the Nirvana thing - "Smells like teen FOSTER" and simply reporting "FOSTER" will be enough.

I already did. But like always the mods have to wait until having enough trolling evidence. And then kick Foster's ass for the 34th time.

BTW, I don't want to brag, but I was the one who coined this expression: "Smells like Foster's Spirit". Like three kicked-out Fosters ago.
