    OK I just saw the description on AA site and they referred to this as a punisher.

    "the time has come to give you a real 'Punisher', a vigilante that specializes in characterful clean-ups in the digital domain."

    No, It is not.
    It is a "modern cream" pultec style.
    For classic pultec style plugin we have "purple"

    Like everything else in mixing and mastering this depends solely on the content. I have used Waves PuigTec for mastering with Low and High Frequency bands but since the Low band is a shelf you need to add a low cut.
    But it's more often useful for mixing than mastering.

    Do not be alarmed. We have been friends going back a long way. This is a new account but we have spoken often in PM'S.
    I suspected this plugin could cause more problems in mastering because of its "betterer" lows and highs with instant results.
    I trust your mastering expertise above anyone here.

    Not alarmed, all is good.

    Like I recently said to another member, poison is a question of dose. I never turned the Boost fully up, neither for Low, nor for High freq and I always used Attenuation with the Low freq boost.
    But if I remember correctly @KungPaoFist once uploaded a song here and I think he turned up Low Boost to the max with AA's Purple. But the song had no low freq instruments so he used only the saturating effect.
