Just roll your system clock back to 2017 when the article was written and you'll get another 2-3 years out of it!

meh... the patent states "in service provider storage systems" (aka OneDrive that, to be clear, got a strong policy against piracy from years now) it has nothing to do with your personal activities (downloads, torrents, etc...) or stuff stored on your hard drive... the article is quoting the patent and then it completely ignore that one sentence... it's just bad written stuff...

We told you countless times to turn off Windows Update and never use Defender or any Microsoft "cloud" services, but some of you Microshit fanboys don't listen. "Just use Defender, you don't need third party AV." Yeah, use Defender and have MS scan all your files. Good that now there is proof, maybe people will take Microsoft's spying more seriously.

Interesting! Well, the 'geniuses' (old & new) in the warez "community" ALWAYS find a way. If Microsoft Windows OS implements this capability, then there will form an army of elite underground coders from all around the world to find a solution. IMO, a modified Windows 10 (...11, 12, etc..) ISO file will be created bypassing the anti-piracy garbage.

CUBASE 10 may not be a world-wide crises to create a unified front, but you can damn sure bet that Microsoft Windows forced anti-piracy measures would create a huge shit-storm. We might even see a Microsoft corp. insider leak the code to the public to bypass those measures. Just my speculation.

The only thing I can think of that could grind everything to a halt would be the implementation of quantum computing by the corporations, while the public still uses binary 1s & 0s - that would probably be game over. Quantum AI coding binary anti-piracy measures might be close to bullet proof?

i think microsoft wont risk his business (and market share) with a move like apple... this catalina affair is affecting piracy as a collateral damage, the biggest problem is in the core level of programming... they want devs to fullfil to their new requirements with no adaptations allowed, just brand new stuff... that's where the real problem is lying...

The OP quoted my post on the sister site. The patent link is just something additional i added, its NOT the same patent discussed in the article. You may want to do some research first before you talk. Its gonna happen sooner or later whether you can handle it or not in your current limited paradigm.

Same here. I will use my modified Win 7 (with updates only up until November 2017) on my main offline music production computer till the day i die. If i should get a new computer at some point, i will stick with Win 7 on all my offline machines. Win 7 for life and i dumped Intel as well. Ryzen is the way to go for me personally :bleh:

You are comparing apples with oranges here. Your logic doesnt apply. The supposed apocalypse was based merely on beliefs that could not be proved for certain. But here we have actual registered and approved patents. Do you even realize that these things are already happening and have so for years? Its really no secret that they are spying on us heavily and that is to put it mildly.

    https://thehackernews.com/2016/02/microsoft-windows10-privacy.html

You might want to google "Intel hidden OS" and you are in for a surprise. There is a hidden OS in every newer Intel CPU (this was discovered by accident) that cannot be accessed, nor turned off, it operates completely independent from the actual main OS and there is more going on than you could possibly imagine in your current limited ignorant paradigm. All of these things have been confirmed officially and here you are being ignorant saying it wont happen when its already here. I cant believe how ignorant people have become, where majority tends to ignorantly dismiss certain info without any further investigation on their end, which by defintion, is the highest form of ignorance, and its not very wise to open one's mouth before actually doing the research and looking into a certain matter.

    https://www.zdnet.com/article/minix-intels-hidden-in-chip-operating-system/

I suggest you wake up and stop sleeping. And its wise to first look into a matter before you open your mouth. Good day Sir.

PS: This is just the tip of the iceberg:
