People often ask for advice on a good but cheap microphone.

Often dymanic Shure microphones such as sm 57 and 58 are recommended which are super nice microphones but still stage microphones....others are also in play but there are too many for me to mention them all.

I myself have quite good experiences with microphones from a small family business in Sweden which makes some quite fantastic microphones in my opinion - and at a really good price.

They make a cardioid and an omni microphone both condensers (of course ) with impressively low self-noise and they are truly linear.

I own both versions and I am really impressed by their performance.

And they are really unbelievably cheap - nearly the same price as sm 57 and 58!!

3U microphones are known to be punching above their weight. Designed in Australia and fabricated in China with top notch quality control. On many of the mics there is a choice for voicings which give them a wide pallete of sounds.
