I think I disagree with the others on this one: everything sounds like it's mixed pretty well. In regular rock music, that's about where you want the kick to be, especially in relation to the bass (which you also mixed really well). If you want it to stand out more, try using a "sharper" sounding kick sample, or layering a sharper one over what you already have ... but I wouldn't mess with it, honestly. You might also want to consider killing your room mics on the kick, or reverb, if you have reverb on it, because that can sometimes make the kick sound flabby. If you recorded your room mics separately, or you have outside reverb on your whole kit, you could also try a HPF between 150-200 Hz, which will take out the boominess from the reverb or room and help your kick stand out without boosting the volume or adding unnecessary compression.

My only (very minor) criticism is whatever you have going on as a "solo" in the mid-section. Is it a synth? A guitar? Whatever it is, consider raising it up about an octave, because it sounds like it's conflicting with your rhythm guitars, bass and background synths and makes it seem a bit muddy to me. Otherwise, it sounds really good! Great job!

@Iggy ... Thanks very much for the kind words... The middle section sound is a synth... Will see how it sounds in the upper register...

    Thank you :)

No problem! Really, the track sounds great, can't wait to hear what you and other people who are messing around with it end up doing with it!

I love this track! what really caught my mind was the guitar licks in 1:00 and the vowel/growl sound that follows it.

what plugin did you use for the guitar lick?

for the growl, did you just process your guitar through a wow filter?

    Regards!

@Iggy ... thanks... as of now, there's just me and @Kirby trying to do a vocal laydown over this... and @midi-man is gonna do some more guitar work... will share it for sure when it takes shape.

@Gigity ... thank you! If youre talking about the 16th note pulse that comes in around the 1:00 mark its an arp patch from a kontakt library called 8dio Rhythmic Aura the vowel/ growl is a patch from Omnisphere.

Thanks to @electriclash and @mercurysoto for listening and the likes! :)

    Holy wow @Kirby !!!

Frickin awesome... It is actually quite difficult to compose a melody with no chord changes... And youve risen to the task brilliantly...

I can imagine some harmony vocals running throughout the track... Like AIC... give it a nice wicked twist...will try to do that soon...

    Awesome man!!! :like:

Nice one Kinghtsurfer and Kirby. A good rollicking vocal that suits this standup rocker riff. Much impressed!
