Just another random two cents, this is a very subjective question, imo. Yes, ideally you want a flat response monitor/headphone. But I found from professionally exclusively mixing on headphones for the last 5 years that it doesn't matter what you have as long as you're using reference tracks and a plugin like Span to visually see where the frequencies are hitting. In my opinion, if you're looking save money, it's better spent on proper headphones and an amp rather than pricey monitors plus the cost of treating your room.

I invested in the Audeze LCD-2 closed back, for a better bass response, and I got a headphone amp with it (Schitt Magnius) to properly amplify it. Of Course it isn't flat but it makes listening to music enjoyable while working and since I just mix based off reference tracks and SPAN, a flat response isn't entirely necessary.

On a budget I used to recommend JBL 305mk2 and on a not budget I recommend Neumann. those new KH120 II seem to be excellent (my Neumanns are from the old series, but I got KH80ies as well and those have the same technology as those new editions).
//EDIT// not shure I ansered that thread already... could have been another monitoring discussion though. I blame it on dementia
