What are the best analogish effects that you've ever heard? (except UAD)
From what I heard, it was Kazrog - True Iron and Airwindows - ToTape

Next to some Softube and PA stuff, definitely Acustica Audio (especially with their new tech) and above all Nebula (N4) with libraries from TimP, Cupwise and Alex B (there´s nothing better ITB in terms of Analogh sound)

 

IMO the best plugins are always the ones you've taken the time for to learn and fully master! But that's not what you want to hear, is it? You want us to tell you what plugin are the best 'analogish' sounding ones so you can be sure your mix will sound great!

Definetely Pulsar modular. Imagine you'd pay $340 for a 3-band eq and it would be bad.
Absolutely impossible!

But Acustica audio is also absolutely tremendous. Can not be that you have to spend this much money, go through all the handling disadvantages and it's technically just straightforward worse then any free plugin.

They way I read your question, you want to go have some fun with those "lowfi" plugins, that will make it sound like it did back in the day on cassette tape.

ofcourse you dont run all the mix through those "lowfi plugins", but only on selective tracks in the mix.
You want to be in control.

Also please keep in mind, every person on here, has their owne interpretation of what "analogue sound" is to thier ears.

what kind of plugin you look for? EQ? compressor? tape? saturation?

of those examples you mentioned, True Iron is pack of line transformer emulations, and ToTape is tape emulation,

my favourite analogish effects are Fabfilter Volcano 3 and Fabfilter Saturn 2

It will be weird if one is being obsessed with "analog" sound, studied it, and make a donation-ware based plugin company just to prove his obsession is TRVE KVLT and also named it "Analog Obsession" but the plugins didn't sound analog right ? even weirder if he has no clue about what is really "analog" sound so he couldn't make the plugin sound analog. Does that count as a wasted obsession then ? hmm.

2 my real life friends sold their 33609 unit after Arturia released the COMP-DIODE. Maybe it is that good.
