This is currently my favourite artist right now. I love his music and I'm heavily into this space ambient sound.

Shared some of his work here before but I really like this guys music so thought I'd make a special thread for him and bring in the attention of some of you who are also into this sound:

I feel like his music really speaks and tells a story of space and hard sci-fi that's in line with my feelings and style.

Here is his soundcloud so give him a follow if you like his stuff:

Stellardrone if you ever visit this forum give me a heads up or a pm, love your work ; )

I like it, but is imo a bit repetitive with style.

Yea, nice artist! By the way, anybody here knows links, books or videos for a guides or tutorials on how to do such a music? I understand that learning is esential and I'm starting to create something that sounds like music, but I'm still in such beginning of music production journey. Thanks

Don't know any particular stuff, but for free stuff i'm sure youtube have some tutorial.

    Some tips:
    http://music.tutsplus.com/tutorials...mples-to-create-ambient-backdrops--audio-3924
    http://music.tutsplus.com/tutorials/using-ambient-techniques-for-composing--audio-4017

And to mention synth that "sing" with those ambient music and it's forgoten lately, but should never be forgoten, as can give any of well known synth run for a money. I say is better than most

well its ambient and drone always. but when i look on trap for example i feel so bored listen to it, while ambient has these longer wide pads, which just relaxes me.

agreed, I'm really getting into dark ambient, downtempo, triphop, spacey, droney cinematic stuff now. If you listen more carefully there is a lot of variation to those types of music and a whole lot of richness and detail going on...

    I also really like @ned944 's dark ambient mixes : )

Yeah agree there is lot of detail and variation, but when i listen to ambient, i don't want to focus on something in music. As i focusing on work, i want music just support and help me with mood :). That's why i look for variation with styles, rythm and unique notation, otherwise no matter details, i became bored pretty quickly. That's why i don't like most of epic ochestral music for example, as most play on the same note, same style over and over again, of course there are exceptions.

i think what makes it hard to enjoy is that when you come from a groove based genres, lets say dnb, ambient just doesnt fit with general idea of music. i hear people often telling me, when i released drone music or just ambient stuff, when not put a beat under it? this would add a lot.
well for me it isnt necessary, everything is there for me.

and stellardrone did/does it even more perfect, as i am able to do it right now.
i think i have all of his albums, quite a lot to be fair and they are out for free on his bandcamp i think.

this ambient, cinematic, the whole new age stuff, is just perfect to study, its supporting the mind (or just my maybe) to shift around concepts, ideas, formulas, while you remain 100% focus on everything.

well check out di.fm's ambient and space music channel. they play lots of this type of music.

Thanks for sharing this artist. This is the sort of music I like to listen to while working on an engineering CAD project. Don't have to concentrate on the music - it's just there to relax you.
