personally i dont mind james wan horror movies ,true he cashing in on cheap scare lately ''close but no cigar ''as they say
but hes his hands is tight with mpaa restriction like what happened to conjuring and dead silence they forced him to lower the scare meter

however his upcoming horror movie ''malignant trailer was out few days ago but it kind has babdook feel in strange way

But I found Midsommar really disturbing, in ages, actually. And most of all not so far fetched.

Yes, it's probably better that way
It's something that no one should really do to themselves, but since no film has ever done what this film does, and I appreciate the film format purely for its innovations, unconventionality and technical implementation, i.e. arthouse, I think this film deserves a mention.
And I mean only mention, not recommendation.

 

Did someone recognize the stolen FX/OST from 0:05 to 0:20 of the trailer (I KNOW!)?

I can give you some tips:
- It was from a SciFi movie;
- It was used a modular system;
- From one of the greatest OST composer ever.

In a nutshell this movie is about 2 brothers that get sent a "farewell tape" from a cult they escaped from but one brother isn't satisfied with his life out of the cult so they both decide to visit because the younger brother doesn't feel deep down that it was a cult at all. So they pay a visit back before the shocker of their lives unfolds.
